Delainey the Daredevil!

I don't think it is normal that a 15 month old runs into the pool till she can no longer stand and flips over to float and giggles the whole time while doing it. Delainey has officially turned into a daredevil and I'm kind of scared! Today she was climbing the playground area and diving down the slide head first all by herself. She probably did it about 30 times. She doesn't exactly know how to wait patiently in line, but we will work on that!  :) Here's a video of my wild woman!

Twinsies

Delainey is obviously my child. As she gets older and older, we look more and more alike. Today I found a few pictures of me in my baby book that looked pretty similar to Delainey.
Grammy found my old glasses so we tried them out on Delainey. I am 3 years old in this one vs. D who's 16 months; our faces definitely are similar.
We are similar age in this one. Good old one eye Willy on the right. haha

I'm going to be an Aunt!!

That's right folks, my sister Kelli is pregnant and due on March 13th! Not only am I excited to be an Aunt for the first time and spoil the baby and then pass it back :) but I am thrilled that Delainey will have a cousin close to her age!! I love being close to my cousin Melissa and can't wait for Delainey and Baby Grif to become best friends!
Kelli is almost into her second trimester and has seemed to have a pretty good first trimester with only a few days of sickness. I can't wait to find out the sex of the baby and start the buying and planning of her shower begin! I am torn on what I want her to have. I think a boy would be very fitting for them, but I would love for D to have a girl close to her age to do girly things with. Either way I'm thrilled about it! Woohoo!!
Here is Delainey saying happy birthday and I love you to Aunt Lala. (Hmm I wonder what my Aunt name will be! )

Happy Birthday to 2 of my favorite ladies!

It's a little late but this week has been pretty hectic and I have not been able to blog. So I would like to formally say Happy Birthday to 2 of my favorite ladies: my mom and my sister!! You guys are my best friends and I could not imagine life without you. I am lucky enough to have both of them within 5 miles of us and they are always helping and loving on baby D. I love you both dearly.
We celebrated Mom's birthday last weekend with a pool day after church where we enjoyed Chicago beefs and just hung out. We did a little dress up as well as some floating in the pool.
Yesterday, we celebrated Kelli's birthday by going out to dinner at a restaurant called Black Sheep in Riverside. The food was good, but small portions.

In other news, I started to doing some Christmas shopping and bought Delainey 2 things. One of which was some Baby Signing Time DVDs. When Delainey saw them in the mail, she absolutely freaked out with excitement so I ended up giving them to her. I guess I only got one Christmas present for her :) How can you say no to this face.
I also picked up some sweet baby Nike Shox at a consignment shop the other day. How cute are these shoes!

Minute to Win It Supper Club

Last night I hosted girl's supper club at my house. The theme this month was "Minute to Win It" based off of the TV game show. We had a night little dinner and then the games began. We split into teams and played 6 different games. Here are all the games set up as a centerpiece
These are the basic ideas of the games. (Of course I was using my phone for the timer so I don't have many pictures)
1. Junk in the Trunk: We had to tie an empty tissue box on our butt and jump up and down and shake it to get 6 ping pong balls out of the box. 2 of the girls did it in less than 5 seconds. The rest didn't do it so quickly.
2. Dizzy Mummy: 1 person had to spin in circles until an entire roll of toilet paper was wrapped around you. I got so dizzy doing it but of course was the fastest.
3. Swinging Orange: tie an pair of pantyhose around your waist with an orange in 1 leg. Swing the orange to hit another orange across the floor. Hilarious!!
4. Chandelier: Stack coke cans starting with 1 on the bottom then put a paper plate, then 2 cans on top of that, then a plate, then 3 cans & plate, then 4 cans. Not too difficult
5. Go Nuts: Stack 6 nuts (like nuts and bolts) on top of each other using only a chopstick. Very hard if you have shaky hands. Of course the nurses did the best!
6. Dice Balance: Balance 6 dice stacked on top of each other on a spoon being held in your mouth. It is all about the bite on the spoon.

We had a great time laughing and playing games. Delainey had a great time too running around. She stayed up till 11 with all the girls!

Today Delainey and I had a lunch date at the new Maple Street Biscuit Company in San Marco. It is unbelievable!! Probably the best fried chicken and biscuits I have ever tasted. I got a biscuit with fried chicken topped with maple bacon and cheese covered in sausage gravy. I highly recommend this place!
No big plans for us the weekend, just starting to celebrate Birthday week for Mom and Kelli! Woohoo! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Back to School Week

So school has officially begun this week which is bittersweet. It means no more fun vacations or play days with Grammy & Kelli since they are busy teaching, but it also means we are getting back in to a routine of my gym, mom to mom, and maybe even some storytime and zoo days. I can't wait for Mom to Mom start up again the first week of September. I miss the girls, but I really miss the lessons and time to learn each week.
This week we have been staying busy trying to get in our last few trips to the pool and beach before it starts to cool off. On Monday, we ran errands and hung out at the house. Delainey is obsessed with shoes lately. She pulls them all out and tries on all of them. Her vans from Aunt Erica are currently one of her faves. Model pose!

Tuesday, we went to the Discovery House and out to lunch with Alicia and Collins. Crazy Delainey is too wild to sit down and do art, or play dress up so we may wait a little while till we go back there.
When Dave got home that night they have a fun evening playing with bubbles and sparklers! What a great Dad!

Wednesday, we headed down to the St. Augustine Beach Pier. They have a splash pad right on the beach and on Wednesdays they have a farmers market. I got some good produce and we had a great time playing around. The beach was absolutely gorgeous too. There was probably 100 yards of sand before you reached the water. We will definitely be coming back soon!

Thursday, we went to the zoo with some Mom to Mom friends and today we spent the day at the house doing some deep cleaning. We had quite the eventful week. I'm sure it will only get more hectic from here as fall always does! My favorite season of all!

Ralph's Surprise Retirement Party

This past Saturday, my parent's threw a surprise retirement party for Ralph. For those of you who don't know Ralph, he is like my second father, boyfriend to my dad, and all around hilarious, great guy. We have known Ralph for the past 18 or so years and it all started with him and my dad helping coach baseball together for Ralph's son Darren. Needless to say they hit it off and have been best friends since.

The theme for the party was "Ralph's road trip" and we highlighted all of Ralph's favorite places: Jacksonville, Chicago, Naples, and the "Concession stand" since he spends so much time following his son around the country watching him pitch for the Orioles. Even Ralph's oldest son, Kyle, from Atlanta was able to make the party. The decor and food turned out fantastic. Here are some pictures of the party.

After everyone was done eating, we had a little Roast of Ralph which ended up with some hilarious speeches and gag gifts!

Also one of the highlights of the night for Delainey was getting to see a real firetruck and take a tour through it. One of Ralph's old ball players is now a firefighter and they stopped by to eat and congratulate him. They let D run around in the truck afterwards. It was so cool and she kept making the ambulance sound.

It was a fantastic night celebrating a Fantastic guy! We love you Ralphy!

-You rode in the car for 7 hours and did fantastic!!! watched some movies, some baby signing time, and slept the whole way.
-You did your first day of scouting for lobster and lasted all day
-You also went to your first sandbar and swam around.
-You got your first brownie beater and made a complete mess with the chocolate.
New Friends I've made: You met Jack & Daltyn Jones today and played with them while Mom babysat. You also hung out with some new friends at Collin's birthday party.
Places you went/Adventures: You went to Seaworld for a Mommy Daughter day and then we stayed at the Ritz Carlton for Dad's meeting. The next day we played at Downtown Disney. You spent 11 days in the keys. You got to see Uncle Gary and Steph and Tony and Brandi too.

Collin's Birthday party

Last weekend, we celebrated Collins 2nd birthday! Alicia is one of my oldest friends from Jax and I love that our daughters are only 8 months apart. The food was absolutely delicious and Delainey had a great time bouncing in the bounce house and playing with all of the kids there. Alicia's family friend is a professional photographer so she got some great photos of Delainey and all of the kids. Here are a few:

Bridesmaid Dress shopping

Today we went bridesmaid dress shopping for my friend Jessica's wedding in February. It was so much fun trying on all the different dresses. We have narrowed it down to 2 depending on our status come closer to the wedding. Erica or I could possibly be pregnant by February so that may change the style of dress. Of course Jessica has her heart set on a black mermaid cut dress that is gorgeous but over the top with the bow. Jess wants this dress regardless of a belly or not.
I am leaning more towards a chiffon dress if anyone is pregnant but who knows what will happen. After shopping we went to dinner at Taverna and I had a delicious goat cheese, beet, and chicken salad. My friend Krista had the pasta (which is homemade). I will definitely be coming back for that another day!

Delainey has her 15 month check up tomorrow with a few shots so hopefully all will go well! I will be back with a 15 month update tomorrow or Friday. We have a big weekend ahead...its a surprise though so I will share on Sunday just in case anyone important reads this! :)
