Week full of playdates!

With all of our traveling, we have missed our friends so we took full advantage this week and played as much as we could. On Tuesday, we went down to St. Augustine with Alicia & Collins to take a trolley tour through St. Augustine and have a picnic by the fort. The girls loved the choo choo trolley for about 20 minutes - 30 minutes of a 1 hour tour. So we decided to hop off half way through and go play by the fort. The trolley was very informative and I learned a lot of stuff about St. Augustine that I had no idea about.

We stopped and ate lunch and let the girls run wild. The weather was perfect.

Then we headed to get popsicles on St. George Street and then hopped back on the trolley for the last half of the trip. We had an awesome day!

Thursday we headed to the zoo with our friends Audrey & Braelyn. Of course Delainey loved as much as always, but it was nice to have another zoo enthusiast to play with. Braelyn ran around like a wild woman with Delainey the whole time.
Last night we had our girls supper club which was great to get together with all the girls since I haven't seen them since Jessica's wedding and today we are watching Collins for a little bit while Alicia is at the doctors. What a fun week for Delainey!

I'd like to leave you with a picture of the sunset from last night. It was AH-MAZING!

Walter's wedding recap

So we came home from Jessica's wedding on Monday, and were off to West Palm on Thursday for my cousin Walter's wedding. Thursday night was the rehearsal dinner. Kids were not allowed at the dinner so we dropped off Mom & Dad and went shopping & to Chuck E Cheese for the night to kill time. Delainey loved Chuck e cheese!! She is obsessed with cartoon characters these days and chased around the mouse trying to give him a hug majority of the night.

Friday, we headed to the beach to enjoy some fun in the sun! Delainey still loves the sand just as much before. She was rolling all in it!
After the beach we headed back to the hotel for naps & showers to get ready for Walter's wedding. We dropped Delainey off at some friends house for the night and headed to the wedding which was held at the Breakers. Talk about gorgeous! The building was built in 1890 so it was very ornate. The ceremony was held outside over looking the ocean and then the reception was held in the circle room which was insane!

The roof in the main lobby!
The decor was so nice and the band was probably the best band I have ever heard! Everything was fantastic.

Here are some pics of my cousin Michael, my Auntie Joyce, & Aunt Terri.

Today we went to the Yacht Club for a farewell brunch and got to show off Delainey to all of my family. I definitely thought she was going to dive in the water a few times, but we made it out alive and headed back to Jax today. It was a great time vacationing, but I am so glad to be sitting on my own couch, hanging with Dave while Delainey sleeps in her own bed. There's no place like home...

Jessica's Wedding Recap

Sorry for the delay on this post, I feel like I have been out of town for the past 2 weeks straight. Here is a recap of Jessica's wedding weekend in Savannah.
Friday morning we arrived to Savannah and the girls had a Bridesmaid brunch at 700 Drayton. The food was delicious and we just chatted about the upcoming festivities over mimosas. After brunch we ran a few last minute errands and got dressed for the rehearsal & dinner. It ended up being a very windy  and cold day which we were not dressed appropriately for.
The dinner was held at the Georgia state railroad museum. It was a very cool atmosphere with old trains everywhere and the actual dinner was held in the cobblers building. The only down side of such an old place was there was no heating or AC so we were wrapped in blankets freezing during dinner. After dinner, we went out for a few cocktails and then headed back to the hotel to spend the night with the bride.

Saturday, we woke up at the crack of dawn to start setting up the reception site. Jessica & I did majority of the decorations on our own and it turned out just the way Jess wanted. We finally started getting ready around noon and were all dolled up to start pictures at 2.

The wedding started at 5 and Delainey did a great job walking down the aisle. She held the other 2 flower girls hands which really helped! After the ceremony we enjoyed cocktails and apps while the bride & groom were finishing up pictures then we headed into the reception. The reception food was delicious and we had a great time dancing the night away

Jessica's Wedding week

This weekend we will be celebrating Jessica's wedding in Savannah. I have the honor of being a matron of honor which is awesome, but boy does it entail some work ;) I picked up my bridesmaid dress today, I'm getting a spray tan tomorrow, I'm getting my nails done Thursday, packing for the weekend for myself, David, Delainey, & Lilly, writing a speech for the rehearsal dinner…I'm exhausted before the real events even start! Not to mention it's our day to bring breakfast tomorrow for Mom to Mom so I have to wake up really early to make a cinnamon roll french toast casserole.

With all the craziness ahead, Delainey and I decided to have a relaxing day going to My Gym and laying in the sun by the kiddie pool. It was just what the doctor ordered. I also made dinner tonight woohoo! Still keeping up with most of my new years resolutions! Here are some pics of todays play day.

Also we tried on Delainey's flower girl dress for this weekend. Here's a sneak peak of what she will look like on Saturday.

Here we go. Hopefully we will do one more post before the weekend craziness, if not be back on Monday!

21 Month Update

Height: about 35 1/2 inches
Weight: about 27 pounds
Head Circumference: about 19 1/2 inches
Movement: You can pretty much do anything as far as movement goes. You can climb anything, jump, run…this category is no longer necessary. You even climb up on top of your dresser when you are supposed to be taking a nap :)You have gotten to be quite the dare devil though at the park. You will hang off the side of the playground to test me. I foresee a broken bone ;)
Eating Habits/New Foods: Your new favorite this month is popcorn. We have had a movie day or 2 where we snuggled and watched movies while eating popcorn and you are in heaven. You are awesome at using a spoon and fork now (even though I still feed you sometimes to keep it from getting too messy). You have mastered feeing yourself cereal which is impressive! You are loving steak and any meat right now as well as a chips and dip.
Sleeping Patterns: You are still sleeping pretty good. Our ski trip messed you up a little bit with the time zone so you were sleeping more of 10 hours instead of 12. We are starting to get back in the swing of things, but lately you have been waking at 8 instead of 9 so I'm hoping we can change that back. Still doing great with naps! As long as you have your paci all is right in the world.
Sounds/Words: You are speaking in sentences and I mean 6-10 word sentences. After being gone skiing for 5 days, Grammy & Pops couldn't believe how well you were talking when we got back. See the video below to hear some talking.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You went to Copper Mountain and LOVED the snow. Your favorite thing to do was lick it and just lay in it.
-You went on an airplane as a 20 month old and did great!
-You played at critterland and got to tube and sled in the snow.
-You got your first burn on your wrist for the electric fireplace in Copper Mountain
-You are newly obsessed with people movers, escalators, and elevators and say "all by myself"
-You got your first flu shot
-You celebrated baby Georgia's baby shower
New Friends I've made: You got to hang out with Emma Maguire in Denver for the night and also met some of her friends. You also made all types of new friends in daycare in Copper.
Places you went/Adventures: You went to LaLa's baby shower, your flew on an airplane, you went to copper mountain and played in the snow.
Clothes: You are in 2T sleepers. These are your current sizes: Gymboree-2T, Target- 24 months/2T, Carter-2T , Old Navy/Gap- 2T. Size 7 1/2 shoe.
You are in a size 5 diaper.

Copper Mountain Trip Recap

We arrived back in Jax late last night from a long 5 day vacation in Copper Mountain. Vacations are so much fun with Delainey. It just adds a whole new level of excitement to snow and all of the activities that go along with it.

We headed to the airport last Wednesday for our direct flight to Denver. I was a touch nervous about flying with my wild woman, so I brought everything I could think of: iPad, computer with DVDs, snacks, and even a brand new backpack for her to wear filled with new toys. She was so excited to put on her big girl backpack when we got to the airport! I think one of her favorite parts of the whole trip was riding on the escalators, people movers, and trains at the airport. Every time we would get near one she would say "all by myself" and run for it.

She loved flying on the airplane and seeing all of the things from the sky. She ended up taking a nice nap on Gammoe, watching some videos, and just looking out the window majority of the time. Not a single tear was shed! woohoo! She also loved the train that took us to the baggage claim from our gate. Once we arrived we rented a car and headed 2 hours west to copper mountain.

We got settled into the condo, rented our skis, and played in the snow that first night. Delainey was so small last year it was really fun to see her try to walk around and play in it dressed like the michelin man. She especially loved to bend down and lick the snow!

Thursday, the whole family skied and Delainey went to daycare which she really enjoyed. It was like a blizzard out there! They said we got over 18 inches of fresh snow that day. It was a lot of work skiing when you can't even see your skis it is so deep!
Friday, I stayed home with Delainey and played in the snow with her on the ice rink and walked around the town. David left around noon to head out to Las Vegas for a work trip.

Saturday, we skied again and Delainey did daycare, but this time they took her outside and she got to do some sledding. They said she loved it. The weather was perfect, sunny and no more falling snow. It was a great day to ski.

Sunday, I took her to a kids area called Critterland where she could do some tubing and play on slides and stuff. We also enjoyed some warm hot chocolate with whipped cream on top when we were done playing outside. That afternoon we headed to Denver to stay with one of David's friends and watch the super bowl. (pretty boring if you ask me).

Monday, Emily & I walked around downtown Denver and then we headed out to the airport. It was a great trip and we hope to make it an annual thing. Delainey will definitely be ready to try out skiing next year!

I also need to document that Delainey got her first burn while on vacation. She hit her wrist against the metal part of the electric fire. She's a champ though and pushed right through enjoying herself!

Onward to the next big event in our lives, Jessica's wedding next weekend….
