Keys Trip 2012

Brace yourselves because this post is a picture overload!! After stopping through Miami, we arrived to my Uncle's house in Islamorada, Florida. We come here every year for the mini season of lobstering and it is by far one of my favorite weeks out of the year. People who came this year were: Delainey, David, myself, Terri, Uncle Gary, Aunt Steph, My cousins Megan, Melissa, Kent and Melissa's 2 friends Ashley & Keith. We had quite the crew! On Monday we went scouting for lobster and then Dolphin fishing. We caught 5 dolphin! Tuesday was yellowtail fishing. Wednesday was the 1st day of lobster season and we caught our limit of 60 lobsters! Thursday was lobstering again, but we only found 13 and Friday was fishing and some relaxing at the sandbar. It was a great week filled with wonderful family and terrific food!

Right before our lobster feast on Wednesday night!

Aunt Melissa scolded D for not having any fishing attire, so we went and found a fishing onesie. Of course we will still rock a bow!

Uncle Gary & D loved each other!

We had a great week and already can't wait for next years trip when D will be walking and going out on the boat with us!

12 weeks

This should have been posted last Thursday (July 26th), but we were in the keys so here it is a few days late. Delainey has been talking up a storm this week! She tries to repeat the noises you make. It is so cute. My cousin Megan and I were making whale sounds to her and she was going right along with it for a good 10 minutes. Other than that, not too much has changed. She is pretty close to rolling over from her stomach to her back. She can roll to her side then a few minutes later she will roll onto her back. It won't be long till she is rolling all over the place.

Also, I think we are up to 4 ounces of milk each feeding. On the car ride home I gave her 3ounces and she still seemed pretty hungry. So at the next feeding I gave her 6 ounces to see how much of it she would eat. The fat girl drank the whole bottle! So I think we are going to stick with 4 ounces per feeding when I pump. That sounds about right for her weight. I can't believe the next pictures we take of her will be her 3 month pics! :( She's such a big girl!!

Delainey Talking

Tomorrow we are headed home from our week long vacation in the keys. I will be back to post all my pictures from the week, but I wanted to show a video of D talking. She has changed so much this week it's crazy! Here is a video we sent to Aunt Kelli while on vacation.

Miami Visit

(This should have been posted Sunday night, but internet didn't work) Yesterday Delainey, my mom and I started our week long trip through Miami to the keys. On the way down, we stopped in West Palm to have lunch with my Auntie Joyce( my grandma's sister) and my Aunt Jackie (Auntie Joyce's daughter). It was so great to see them and introduce Delainey to them. We have not seen them since my sister's wedding 2 years ago. Auntie Joyce is almost 90 and looks like she is no older than 75. She is in great shape and looks amazing! We enjoyed lunch at Chili's and caught up for 2 hours before hitting the road.

We arrived in Miami around 5 and showered up and went out to dinner with my Aunt Terri and cousin Walter. We ate at this place called Pascal's. It was delicious! It was a French American restaurant that had all types of gourmet foods like Cheese souffle and veal medallions. I was in heaven. After dinner we headed home and went straight to bed. We were exhausted after the long day.

This morning we got up and hung out with the family before leaving around 3. D got to meet my other cousin Walter and my Uncle Walter. We left Miami and headed to the airport to pick up David and my cousin Megan. David was on my brother's bachelor party in Biloxi and my cousin flew in from New York. We finally arrived to the keys house around 6, had dinner, and watched the bachelorette. We are off to bed to rest up as this week is going to involve lots of fishing, boating, and drinking.

11 weeks

Delainey was 11 weeks old yesterday. The outfit she has on was passed down from David's mom. I think either Emily or Elizabeth (David's sisters) wore this when they were babies. You can't see it in the picture but I love the open cross back.

D is starting to focus on things much better. She sat in her jumper for about 30 minutes looking a the lights and watching things move. She still can't touch the ground but with a box under her she will stand up and then sit back down.

On another note, Delainey has turned into a drooling queen. We have added bibs to our daily outfit. I don't think she is teething yet though. A lady at my church told me they drool because they're taste buds are coming in. Anyone with experience know why she drools so much so soon?

Here is D representing Wake Forest for her Uncle Jeff

Also, for new moms or soon-to-be moms. No one ever told me how often you should bathe a baby. I assumed daily since it's part of the bedtime routine and helps prevent diaper rash. Apparently that's wrong! Bathing a baby too much can cause eczema when they get older (it dries their skin out too much). So we are now bathing every other day. D's skin does seem more moist since switching over. Just thought I would share since no one shared with me.

She is getting so big!

Tomorrow we are going down to the keys for a week for our annual lobster trip with my mom's side of the family. We having been doing it since I was a kid and I look forward to it every year. Lucky for me, David loves it too and has fully embraced this family tradition! :) Not to mention lobster is one of my favorite foods and there is definitely no shortage of lobster!
On the way down, we are stopping in Miami to stay with my Aunt Terri for the night. She hasn't met D yet so that should be fun. I will try to post pictures throughout the week in the keys, but I don't think the internet is great so it may be awhile before my next post. Everyone have a great week!!

SeaWorld Trip

Yesterday we spent a day at SeaWorld. Delainey and I went with my mother-in-law, Marcia, my sister-in-law, Emily, D's cousin, Paige, and D's 2nd cousin, Collier. We headed down there on our 2 hour drive around 8 am. D was a gem like usual and slept the entire way while the girls watched a movie in the back and I drove. We arrived around 10:30 and hit the rides as soon as we got in.

It was pretty crowded and very hot. The girls went on the Manta roller coaster while Marcia stayed back with Delainey. It was a cool roller coaster because you lay on your stomach and feel like you are flying. Then we went to see the Shamu show. Delainey loved all the lights and music.

The girls in the soak zone. And boy did they get soaked!

D was sad she was missing Shamu jump! haha
By the time we got out of the show, the weather became overcast and almost rainy which was nice. We went on Wild Artic and then walked through the Shark encounter before having lunch. We didn't have reservations so we were not able to eat lunch at the restaurant in the shark tank. We did walk through it though. It was unbelievable! I will definitely be eating there next time I go back.

D loved walking around in the pack until she passed out on the way to lunch!

We had lunch at a pizza and pasta buffet then went to feed the dolphins. I have never done this at SeaWorld and it was by far the highlight of the trip! The dolphins were so cool. They felt like wet rubber and would come right up to you to eat and let you pet them. I am adding swimming with the dolphins to the bucket list. I loved them!! Then we went down below and looked at the dolphins through the glass.

After the dolphins the girls went to ride the roller coaster Kraken while Marcia, D, and I went to watch the Pets Ahoy show. It is all rescued animals that have been trained to do tricks. It is so cute. Then we hit up the last ride, Atlantis water ride, before heading home. We got home at 10:30 at night. It was definitely a long day, but it was so much fun! Delainey was great the entire day and I can't wait to take her back when she is a little bit older to enjoy it a bit more.
