Happy Birthday Dave!!

Happy birthday to the best husband and father anyone could ever ask for. You are such a loving, caring, playful father and I just love to sit back and watch you interact with D. You are the best father a woman could want for her kids. Thank you for all you do in providing for our family and loving us the way you do. We love you!!!

Beginning of Birthday Week!

Birthday week is officially in full swing and we are loving it! She has been getting gifts all week and I can't wait for her actual  party. I am a little concerned about the weather, but praying it doesn't rain. We started off on Friday with a new jean shortall outfit from the gap.
Then Saturday, we went to Wyatt's birthday party so we skipped a day of gifts since it was Wyatt's birthday! This is the outfit she wore to the party. It was hot, but a lot of fun playing with other kids.
After the birthday party, I headed up to Amelia Island for Krista's wedding.  It started off as a disaster because I forgot my dress in Jacksonville. Luckily, someone had an extra dress so all was better. It was a nice wedding and we had a fantastic time breaking it down on the dance floor.

Sunday, we went to the pool and celebrated Dave's birthday dinner at my mom's house. It was a delicious steak and lobster feast. It was D's first time having lobster and she really enjoyed it. Since it is birthday week, Delainey also got a really cute seersucker outfit from Grammy.
Today, we are watching Dean and hanging out at the house. Today's gift was a Melissa & Doug shape sorter toy. Not quite there on the shapes, but fun to stack them all together.

She also got this precious terry cloth cover up from Uncle Gary and Aunt Steph in the mail today!
What a great birthday week so far! We are off to run some errands for the party and celebrate Daddy's birthday tonight!

51 Weeks & Zoo Trip

Yesterday, we went to the zoo with our Mom to Mom group. It was the first time we actually noticed the animals so that was a lot of fun. We also fed the giraffes for the first time. D was a little unsure about it, but didn't seem to mind to much.
\
They also just recently opened the splash park so we spent majority of the time there running around with the other kids. I'm not really sure where this new fear of water came from, but she hates water hitting her head. She is fine just splashing in it, but if she gets sprayed she loses it! In the bottom picture I put her under the sprinkler and she immediately started crying and completely froze. She would not walk out of the water. I am hoping it is just because the water is so cold. Who knows.

Today marked 51 weeks for D! Not too much new except that she learned the sign for baby and got a new hair do! She's not a fan of the new do, but I think it is precious! I'm glad these days of the blocks are almost over because boy is it tough to get a picture with them.

Her sassy face  and her doing the please sign in the right pic
I threw my makeup on the bed and found her rubbing the brush on her face. O the joys of girls!
Tomorrow marks DELAINEY'S BIRTHDAY WEEK!!! Of course she gets a whole week just like her mama. We will be doing some fun stuff to celebrate over the next week including a present a day! I will be back with some posts recapping all the excitement!! I will leave you with my favorite picture from today...what a model!

50 Weeks

Delainey is quite the busy body these days. We had a great day today playing at the park with Audrey & Braelyn and then going to the pool with Alicia & Collins. She is starting to like the water a little more at the pool. It is just so darn cold that she doesn't really want to go too far in, but we are working on it. Tomorrow we are headed to the zoo with our mom to mom group. Still eating everything under the sun and running around the house. Her favorite thing to do is be outside. I will open the door for 2 seconds to throw the trash out and she will run towards the door. Today I went through her closet and packed up the clothes that no longer fit her. Boy did we put up a lot! Guess it's time for a shopping trip!!

On another note, Delainey got her first birthday present from Aunt Kelli & Uncle Jeff! It is her picnic table! It seats 8 kids and folds up nicely to store! We are so excited!! Thanks guys!!

Hopefully, I will be back with another post before this weekend begins which is going to be a crazy busy one!   11 days till the big party! Ahhh so much to do!

Week in Review

It has been quite the busy week between watching Dean, tutoring, mom to mom, and David not getting home before 8:30 any night this week. On Tuesday, he did make it home in time for bath time and this is how I found her. haha I guess she has more hair than I thought. I can't wait to do some pigtails!
Dean and Delainey have become much more affectionate over the past few days, it is so cute! They just don't know how to be gentle so Dean will go to hug her and tackle her to the floor.
Pops got to take D on a walk and Aunt Kelli and I went to the mall and found this little gem. I am absolutely for putting a leash on your child if that's what it takes to keep them safe. I will definitely be using one of these when we go to Disney.

Also this week we signed Delainey up for some swim lessons. They are up at the community pool and it is more of getting acquainted with the water than actually swimming. The only bad part is they are not until June and they are at 8:30 am. It's going to be rough getting there and getting in the cold pool with her! I think we may look into some infant survival rescue in the near future.

Thursday night, I had my girl's supper club and this months theme was weddings. Everyone wore either their wedding dress or a bridesmaid dress. It was hilarious! I was pretty excited that I still fit in my dress!

Friday, we headed to the beach with Dean and Tessa to play. It was so much more fun now that she can walk. It was overcast so we had the entire beach to ourselves. D was fearless and walked to the water and started playing. That was until the tide was coming in and a large wave hit her. She freaked out, but was fine afterwards.

I love this picture with the view and her just staring out at the ocean.

Friday night, we celebrated Dave's birthday a week early since his Dad will be gone for the next 3 weeks for business. We had dinner at Orsay in Riverside and it was amazing! Pretty expensive, but very good. Saturday we had our couples supper club at the Bishops and today we went to church and have just been hanging at the house. I told you busy week! It's not going to be slowing down anytime soon either. Once we get past D's party we will be good! Hope everyone had a good week!

49 Weeks & Dave's new job

It has been such a busy week as far as Delainey goes! I don't know if it was being away from her for the weekend that I forgot how smart she is, or she just learned tons of new things while I was gone! (Thanks Grammy!) She is talking up a storm and it is so hard not to laugh. She has started mocking me and saying no, no, no it is so cute! She also says uh o! She is using the please sign all the time now and she is pointing at what she wants then will say please. My favorite is her excited face and she will say oooo in amazement. Also this week she is officially walking everywhere. No more crawling for this gem, which means a few skinned knees and decent falls but she's tough! New foods we have done are pickles, chicken salad, baked snap peas, and beer bratwurst! Warning TMI, but I wanted to document it: Dave was getting Delainey dressed today and let her run around naked. She definitely started grunting and pooped on the carpet for the first time; it was hilarious!

In other news, Dave has been interviewing with a new company, Stryker, for the past few months. He really loves his current job, but they approached him and tried to get him to switch companies. After many interviews, background checks, papers to fill out, and all the other good stuff that come along with a worldwide company, he has accepted the job and starts tomorrow. He will be doing the same thing, but the biggest perk of the new job is the benefits. No more health insurance coming out of my own pocket!! Yay! This weekend was spent getting to know his new co-workers. Friday, we went over to his co-worker Ralph's house for dinner and to get to know his wife. We brought baby D and had a really nice time just hanging out and getting to know each other. Last night, everyone he works with and their wives all went bowling at Latitude 30 for some team building. Everyone seemed really nice, and we had a great time. BTW Latitude30 was a really cool place. They have bowling, a restaurant, a bar with a dance floor and band playing, a comedy club, and a movie theater where you sit in lazyboys and order food during the movie. I am definitely going to be trying the movie out soon.
D's excited face!

So that pretty much sums up our weekend. We did do some wedding dress shopping for Jessica on Saturday and also some projects for Delainey's party. 3 weeks to go...feeling the pressure.

Here's a video of D walking!!
