Big girl Bed!

We made the plunge 2 days ago and converted Delainey's crib into a toddler bed. (we basically just took off one of the sides. I was dreading this moment especially since she is so young and such a wild woman. I was left with no choice though as she tried to climb out of the crib again 3 days ago. So on Tuesday, we cleaned her room of anything harmful, secured the bookshelf to the wall, turned the door handle around so I could lock her in, and put pillows on the side of the crib in case she fell out. She was so excited to play in her big girl bed. She kept jumping up and down saying "no more monkeys jumping on the bed." Then the dreaded bed time came. She wasn't very tired, so we did our normal bedtime routine of bath, book, and milk then we laid her in bed and locked the door. She cried at the door for a good 20-30 minutes and then walked back to her bed and fell asleep. She didn't make a peep and slept like a gem till 8 am the next morning.

Last night, I laid in bed with Delainey until she fell asleep so there were no tears shed. She did, however, get up and go to the door, laid down and slept by the door for about an hour, and rolled off the bed and slept on the pillows on the floor. But despite all of that she didn't cry at all and slept till 8 am again. Today, she crawled into bed for nap time and went right to sleep. I don't know what all this anxiety was about because clearly my girl is not so little and is ready to be in a big girl bed! I am so glad we have such a good sleeper. Now can time stop before my little girl gets any older :(

It's a Girl!!

No not me.. I'm not pregnant. But Kelli is and we found out today that she is having a Girl!!
Tonight she had her ultrasound where she was able to find out the sex of the baby. After their ultrasound, we all met at their house to find out the good news in a scratch off! Jeff loves scratch offs so it was very fitting. Everyone grabbed their penny and scratched as hard as they could until Melissa found out first and yelled "girl!" I was guessing a girl from the beginning and am so excited Delainey is going to have a girl cousin to be her new best friend. They will be just under 2 years apart which is no big deal when they get a little older.
We all had dinner together afterwards and talked about the baby and potential names. I will share the name once it is set in stone. I can't believe we already know the sex. I feel like her pregnancy is flying by and before we know it baby girl Grif will be here!! YEA!
Anyways, I am off to bed because Delainey and I are taking a day trip to Seaworld tomorrow. We will be back with lots of great pictures!!

Fall Decor is up!

While Delainey was sleeping this week, I have pulled the Fall decorations from the attic and decorated my house! I'm not a big Halloween person so instead of decorating twice (once for Halloween and once for Thanksgiving) I just decorate for Fall and leave it up through November! My house looks so much nicer with some decorations!
Here is what my mantel looks like. I just got this new mirror from hobby lobby because my clock died and I love it! I change out the picture on the right with different subway art all year around. Throw in some fake pumpkins and flowers in hay and you are set. I also did some leaf garland with a pumpkin and lantern above my Entertainment unit.

On my dinning room table, I did some colored wheat in a glass jar with a Harvest sign and candles. Very simple.

On the bar I put out flowers, fake pumpkins, metal pumpkin candle holder, filled a lantern with glitter pumpkins, and put some orange decor in the hydrangeas.  I love this season and am glad my house finally looks Fall-y! Now we just need some cold weather!
In other news, Delainey fell out of her crib the night before last. And by fall out, I mean swan-dived head first onto the floor. I saw it happening on the monitor and ran as fast as possible but couldn't get there in time. So this leaves me with the challenge of what to do. I temporarily turned her crib around so the tall side is out to help prevent her from climbing out, but I don't know how long that will last. I think my only choice is to take convert her crib into a toddler bed. I just don't think she is ready to lay in bed at night and actually sleep when she could just get up and run around. It is going to be interesting trying to figure out how to tame my monkey. If anyone has any advice I will gladly take it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We will be watching football and cooking out; 2 of my favorite parts of FALL!

Bridesmaid Dress shopping - Round 3

So a few months ago, I posted about our first bridesmaid dress shopping trip for my friend Jessica's wedding. After much consideration, we decided against the original tight dress and started looking for more. Today we ALL finally agreed on one and I am so glad the shopping is over. :) It is a chiffon wrap dress. Here is a picture of what the dress looks like.

Newbury Long

You can wear it as a cap sleeve or scrunch it together to be a tank top. We are going to be doing it in black. Now we just have to find what Delainey will be wearing since she is a flower girl.

In other news, we had girl's supper club at Shannon's on Tuesday. Here theme was salads and it was delicious! We had chicken salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad, ceasar salad, and caprese salad on skewers. After dinner we played this knew iphone game called "Heads up." You hold the phone to your forehead and words pop up on the screen. Your teammates try to describe the word getting you to guess the word. It is fun because they have different categories that include one where you can only act, and one where you have to hum. I highly recommend spending the $0.99 for this game!

Anyways, there is not a ton going on this week. Delainey and I have been coughing and had runny noses all week so we have been laying low and doing lots of cuddling. On Saturday, we are headed to David's co-worker's (Ralph's) baby shower, but that is pretty much it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Hopefully we are on the mend and will be back in business next week :)

Camdyn's Bday party & more fun!

Sorry it has been so long since we have done a post. Our weekends have been preoccupied with football which has taken away from my blog time. Here is what has been going on over the past week.
Last Tuesday, we went to watch a Bartram Volleyball game with Grammy and Delainey loved it!

Being silly at Grammy's house on Wednesday. Delainey can now say "Go Noles", do the Seminole chop, and after we say Florida State, Florida State, Florida State, she says Wooo!
Friday, Delainey and I snuggled because we both had a runny nose and a little bit of a cough. It has been forever since she slept on me and I loved every minute of it.
After our snuggle session, I took her for a smoothie. She's so big and so cute!
Saturday, Kelli & Jeff came to take Delainey for a few hours to play. It was lovely having a morning alone! They ended up going to the mall and of course Lala and Babe spoiled her to death. She had chick fil a for lunch, got to play in the kid's area, and got to ride on the train around the mall for the first time. They said she loved it and kept saying Choo Choo the whole time!!
Later that day, we went to Camdyn's 3rd birthday party. It was Princess themed so Delainey made a princess crown and played in the castle bounce house.
She also played with all their cool toys. She got in the doll stroller and Haigan pushed her around the house. It was so cute!

Yesterday, I got a 24 hour bug and was sick in bed all day, but am feeling much better today. I will be better posting this week I promise!

16 Month Update

Height: about 34 inches
Weight: about 24 pounds
Head Circumference: about 19 inches
Movement: You are walking up and down steps without holding on to anything. You can also jump now off of 2 feet. Your favorite thing to do is say "Get you" and be chased around the house.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are starting to get a little picky about some foods now. I started a bad habit of letting you dip things into sauces or condiments. Now when you eat pancakes, chicken, hotdogs, foods like that you say "dip it" over and over until I give you syrup/ranch/ketchup. Your favorite food this month is noodles. Corn is your favorite vegetable and you love all types of fruit especially blueberries this month.
Sleeping Patterns: Still sleeping through the night (12 hours)...and you take one nap a day now. We took the pacifier away in the car so you rarely sleep in the car unless you are completely exhausted. You take 1 nap a day around 1ish for 1-2 hours.
Sounds/Words: You have turned into a little parrot. You literally can repeat every single word  we say. There are too many words to list. We also taught you when you get hurt, to let Mommy kiss it and you say "All better." You still love music and LOVE baby signing time. You are continuing learning signs just from the videos.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You found out you are going to have a COUSIN!!
-You went down the slide at the pool all by yourself face first.
-You got your own personal tour of a fire truck at Ralph's retirement party
-You got your first splinter and took it like a champ when I pulled it out of your foot
-You have learned to throw a temper tantrum. When you don't get what you want, you start swinging your arms trying to hit and then you go limp and fall on the floor and yell. You come by it honestly! We are working on "Using our words" when you get upset. Most fits are when you are tired.
-You can pretty much play on the playground by yourself. I still stand close just in case if you were to fall.
New Friends I've made: You celebrated Ralph's Retirement and met lots of people at the party.
Places you went/Adventures: You went to Collin's birthday party, Ralph's retirement party, and Adventure landing waterpark.
Clothes: You are in 18 month sleepers. These are your current sizes: Gymboree-12-18, Target- 12 months, Carter-12 , Old Navy/Gap- 12-18 (For pants we are up to 18-24) You are tall and skinny so most things fit but are short.
You are in a size 4 diaper.
