Tomorrow D and I are going to SeaWorld with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and D's 2 cousins! We are so excited. Teachers get in free anytime of the year, so I thought I would get one last perk out of being a teacher before I officially throw in the towel. I will be back tomorrow with tons of pictures I am sure!

MOSH Playdate
Today Delainey and I had a playdate with my friend Alicia and her daughter Collins. D & C are only 9 months apart so they are going to be great friends! (They don't have a choice because Alicia & I have been friends since 6th grade) We went to lunch at European Street Cafe. The sandwiches there are huge and delicious. Not to mention they have great desserts.
Going places with little ones is never a fast task. It took about 2 hours to eat then we headed over to the Museum of Science & History (MOSH). Delainey is obviously too small to enjoy the museum, but Collins seemed interested in a few things. They currently have the largest T-Rex in the world at the museum so that was kind of cool. Nothing too exciting though. For something to do indoors since it has been so hot lately, I would recommend going to the MOSH. It was a nice little afternoon with the girls.

This is how the girls play. Haha! They basically just look at each other from their strollers :)
Please look at Delainey's face! She must have been scared the T-Rex was going to eat her!
D & Neil Armstrong
This is another outfit from Smocked Auctions! So cute but it runs small. It's supposed to be 3 months and it's already too tight on her. She is growing too fast!
BTW, no one tells you that if you are planning on breastfeeding you might as well throw all sense of fashion out the window. It is so difficult to find cute clothes that are easy to breastfeed in. Button down shirts are my new go-to item. Just thought I would share for all you soon to be moms.
Tonight we are just hanging out at the house. We are going to lay low this weekend because we are about to have something going on for the next 4 weeks. We are going to Miami, then the Keys for a week, then David's annual business conference, then my brother's wedding in New Orleans. So until August 17th we will be on the go! School starts back August 20th. I am so glad I don't have to stress about the upcoming school year with all of this going on. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
10 Weeks
Delainey turned 10 weeks today. I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. I can hardly remember what life was like with out her. Today we ran some errands and went to the mall with my mom. I bought a bumbo at a consignment shop because it is just ridiculous to spend $45 on a piece of rubber they hardly use. She is definitely trying to sit up. When she is laying on her back she is constantly trying to pull forward to sit up. So I thought the bumbo would be useful for a few weeks. Then we did our usual Thursday night mexican dinner with the family.
We are going to the MOSH today with a dear friend and her daughter so I will be back later with pictures from the museum. Have a good Friday!
I'd like to give a shout out to the Turbedsky's for this precious outfit! Thanks so much for the clothes guys!
How cool is it that we have a street sign hanging in our garage with our last name. Haha. The hubby found it back in the college days.
On another note, I started taking tennis lessons about 3 weeks ago at our community amenity center. I figured since I'd be staying home, I would need a little adult interaction and what better way to get some exercise. I am really enjoying the sport. Last night after dinner, the whole family decided to play a little tennis up at the local park. David and I were of course the worse (we have never played & everyone else has), but it was a lot of fun. I think this is going to be a sport that the whole family can enjoy doing together (We just have to get Kelli & Jeff on board).
Did I mention I have a fantastic husband. Here is the result of reading a book and rocking D to bed. They both fell asleep. I guess all the tennis wore them out! :)

God is in Control
Today reconfirmed that when you think you have a plan and everything all figured out, God takes over and changes your life according to HIS plan which doesn't necessarily match your plan. Sometimes it is difficult to remember that God has a plan when we want something so badly, but looking back it always works out for the best.
This morning I went to tell my principal at the school I've worked at for the past 5 years that I have decided to be a full-time stay-at-home mom. I have known all my life that this was my ultimate goal when children came around. I am lucky enough to be married to a terrific man who has the same views on this subject as I do. Until recently we weren't sure if this was a possibility. We decided we were ready to try to have kids about 2 years ago. Getting pregnant was difficult for us and I struggled with why I wasn't getting pregnant while so many people around me were getting pregnant so easily. Looking back now at what has changed over the past 2 years has reminded me of how perfect the timing of Delainey was. David started a new job a year and a half ago that will allow me to stay home financially. If Delainey came any earlier, it would not have been possible. Also, my principal was going to move me to 8th grade math this year which I would have been so unhappy with. The timing of this decision could not have more perfect. I cannot wait to be able to watch my little girl grow everyday. I am definitely going to miss being in the classroom and making an impact on my student's lives, but feel that being with my own child is more important at this time. I'm sure I will continue to volunteer in the schools or tutor students on the side just cause I love it so much. So a new chapter in my life has begun. From career woman to Mom!
*In the moment we may not understand why things happen the way they do, but remember God already knows exactly what is going to happen in your lives and has the best timing of all!*
Here's a pic of D mesmerized by her play mat
She is about over the pacifier. I think she is more interested in eating the lamb or her hand. I am pretty sure she is going to be a thumb sucker once she figures it out!

2 Month Update
Height: 24 1/2 inches - 97%
Weight: 11 lb 14 oz - 75 %
Head Circumference: 15.6 inches - 75%
Vision: You can now see clearly 24 inches in front of you. You can follow people and objects well.
Movement: You are much more active with those hands & legs. You can hold onto objects when mommy puts them in your hand and your legs are constantly kicking. During diaper changes you stretch out as much as you can with your arms above your head and your toes pointed.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are still eating every 3 hours during the day. Every 4-6 hours at night. Sometimes if it is a hot day or you sweated a lot we feed you every 2 hours so you don't get dehydrated. You tried pedialyte for the first time this month and you liked the strawberry flavor. You take a bottle like a champ now. We are still doing 3 ounces, but we are pretty close to moving to 4 ounces per feeding.
Sleeping Patterns: You nap for about an hour in between almost every feeding. At night you fall asleep around 11-12 and sleep until 5 or 6 am. You wake for your feeding and then go back asleep until 8ish. I feed you again and then we snuggle in bed and sleep till 9:30 or 10
Sounds/Words: You are starting to coo and make noises after you eat. The 30 minutes after a feeding are my favorite. You sit up on my legs and smile and make faces at me. You try to mimic what I'm doing and make noises when I do.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You have definitely discovered your feet. You spend lots of time staring at your feet as you kick them in different directions.
-You got your ears pierced at your 2 month appointment. It was very traumatizing for Mom so I didn't watch. You yelled at the top of your lungs like you have never yelled before, but once both ears were done, you calmed down in about 2 minutes. You will appreciate me getting your ears pierced at an early age because you won't remember the pain.
-You also got your first round of vaccines at your 2 month appointment. You took them like a champ and did not let them bother you at all afterwards. No fever, just a little tired after the Doctor.
New Friends I've made: We went to the neighborhood pool this month and met Matthew Ishee one of mom's co-worker friends.
Places you went/Adventures: We went to the pool a lot this month and tried out your new float. We also went to Krista Gartley's Engagement Party. We went down to the Mason's love shack and went on the jet ski and cooked out. We also went to Savannah with daddy and stayed with Jessica and Gregg. Morgan and Andy came to see you too. We went out to eat and walked around downtown Savannah.
Happy even after getting her ears pierced!

Delainey's Update
Delainey - 1 , Mommy- 0
We have been blessed with a pretty good sleeper. Delainey usually gets a bath around 9 pm and eats then she hangs out with her Daddy until her next feeding at midnight. After the midnight feeding, she sleeps till 5 or 6 am, wakes to eat and goes back to bed till 8:30 or 9. Sometimes we get real lucky and she sleeps till 10. She has been doing this for several weeks now so I figured it may be time to teach her to sleep through the entire night. So off I went to google to read about the Ferber (Cry it out) method. It made sense so I thought why not give it a try for a few days. (David also liked this method of sleep training. I'm not a horrible mom who wants her kid to cry all night long while she is starving to death. He was on board too.)
So last night we did our normal bath routine but after the 9:15 pm feeding, we put her down for bed. She did great and was asleep within minutes for several hours. Instead of going to bed too while she slept, I had to stay up and watch The Bachelorette so we didn't end up going to bed until 1 am. D was still sound asleep; I couldn't believe how easy this was. That was until 3 am when she started crying. I took her out of her crib and fed her and put her right back in bed. She fell back asleep and I went back to my room. That lasted all of 5 minutes until the crying began. I waited 5 minutes then went in to give her the paci and left. 5 minutes later the crying continued. This time I waited 10 minutes before I went in there. This pattern continued till about 4:30 am. At that point I was so tired of going back and forth, I found a pillow and a snuggie and laid on the floor of her room. The pattern continued; she was wide awake and not going back to bed. Finally at 5:30, I gave up and let D win. I took her out of the crib, fed her again, and then rocked her till she went back to bed. She cried 30 minutes later, so her Dad went and grabbed her and let her snuggle in bed with him till our 7 am wake up call.
Moral of the story, Delainey won that one last night and mom is pretty tired running on 3 hours of sleep. We actually just got home from our 2 month check up and I asked the doctor when she should start sleeping through the night. She said she weighs too little to be able to hold enough food in her tummy to last past 5 straight hours. So we will put the Ferber method on hold till she gets bigger. Does anyone else have any good tips to get her to sleep through the night? Or should I just be happy with what we are doing because it really isn't too bad?
I will post shortly on how her 2 month check up went with some pics!

Weekend in Savannah
We just got home a few hours ago from Savannah. I am such a neat freak whenever I get home from a trip I immediately unpack everything and do a load of laundry. I just can't handle clutter all over my house. HAHA. Anyways we had a great time in Savannah this weekend. Yesterday, we got up early and arrived to Savannah around 11 am to our friend Gregg's house. We hung out a little bit then went to lunch on Tybee Island at a restaurant called the Tybee Social Club. It reminded me a lot of the Keys (very beachy with touristy shops). The other couple coming in town met us at lunch. We enjoyed lunch and drinks on the deck and just caught up. (Delainey was a champ as usual and everyone was loving the hooter hider!)
After lunch we hung out at Gregg's and the girls sat on the porch and caught up while the boys hung out inside and drank some beers. It was so great just to have some girl time like the old days.
Then we went to downtown Savannah to hit up a few bars to have some drinks and walk around. We ended up eating dinner in the City Market and hanging out outside listening to some live music. Savannah isn't very kid friendly after 10 pm so we ended up coming home around 11.
The handsome boys
Delainey's stroller fan was a huge hit. I highly recommend them if you live anywhere in the south. There is a considerable difference in how much cooler she stays with it on.
The girls
Gregg & D making a funny face
Today we got up and had lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in Savannah called the Crystal Beer Parlor. The burgers and desserts were delicious. After lunch we headed home.
Overall it was a great one night getaway especially because we got to hang out with some of our favorite couples! We will definitely be frequenting Savannah more often.
