5 Month Update

Height: about 27 inches
Weight: about 15.8 lbs according to my scale
Head Circumference: about 17 inches
Vision: I think your vision is now fully developed. Now we are working on remembering familiar faces and smiling when you see someone you know. You are also supposed to be able to recognize what things are when you only see part of it.
Movement: You can roll both ways now and you are a wild woman at night in your crib. Dad is trying to teach you to crawl and you are getting mighty close. You push up on your knees and push your legs to move forward but you bury your head in the ground. You can almost sit up by yourself, at least for a few seconds. You also reach for people now.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are still eating every 3 hours during the day. And once at night about 7-8 hours after you go to bed.  You are getting between 4-6 ounces per feeding. We do an extra 4 ounce bottle at night to help you sleep a little longer. As far as real food goes, I let you lick/taste majority of the things I eat. We did let you have a frozen banana slice in your mesh teether though. You loved it! We will be doing that more while we wait to start implementing baby food into the diet next month.
Sleeping Patterns: You are still doing great with the routine and fall asleep anywhere between 10 & 11 pm. You sleep a good 8 hours till 6ish when I feed you and you go back to bed for another 3 hours. As far as naps go, they are all over the place. Usually about an hour and a half after you eat that happen. They last about 30-45 minutes.
Sounds/Words: Still talking and laughing up a storm. We yell a lot now! You have yelling contests with mommy all the time.. You also started to do a little whine when you are tired or hungry.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You took out your beginner earrings and are now sporting your real diamonds
-You no longer use your gas drops! Hallelujah!!
-You have some major abs and can do sit-ups when held by your feet
-You have lost  most of your baby hair and are getting very blonde except for 1 patch on the back.
-You are so close to sitting by yourself. You are good for about 5 second stretches
-You had your first sleepover @ Grammy & Pops while we were in Tally.
New Friends I've made: You have made tons of new friends from Mom-to-Mom while you are in the nursery. We also are getting to know some people who do gymnastics with us so that's good. You met Gannon a few days after he was born. He is a big boy @ almost 10 lbs at birth, but so cute. You also met Kate & Mary Liz while on your Atlanta trip. As well as Cora, Aunt Linda, Uncle Chris, and Sam & Gillie.
Places you went/Adventures: September has been a great month for us. We have been loving every minute of our Mom to Mom classes as well as gymnastics. We like to have something to do each day even if it is something small. We attended Camdyn's birthday party. You had your first ever over-night sleep over with Grammy & Pops while your parents went to the FSU v. Wake game. You also attended the HeartWalk and did your first 5K.  And we traveled to Atlanta to stay with Morgan and see Cora & family.
Clothes: You have graduated to 9m for sleepers. They are a little large but the 6m were too small. These are your current sizes: Gymboree-6, Target-3, Carter-3, Old Navy/Gap- 3-6
You are also now in a size 2 diaper! We have switched from pampers to huggies bc the huggies have a higher cut waist and seem to hold the poop in better. :)

It's October - Birthday Month!!

October is finally here and it is by far one of my favorite months of the year! The weather cools off, there is the FL vs. GA game, & most importantly there is my birthday! :) We have started the birthday month off with a bang. Yesterday we hung out at the house and played with Lilly while catching up on laundry from the weekend. We hit up the Fresh Market for dinner & bought their New England Clam chowder and sourdough bread. We hollowed out the bread and had a soup bread bowl. It was heavenly!! Probably the best clam chowder I have ever tasted besides in Boston (nothing will ever beat that).

Today we headed out to run some errands and Delainey bought me my first birthday present for the month. She bought me some beautiful new riding boots! What a sweet girl I have :) haha

D playing dress up at the mall. I wish it got cold enough to wear these! So cute!!
When we got home we had a delicious dinner waiting for us in the crock pot. My new goal is to try a new recipe every Tuesday. Today we tried a pot roast recipe my friend Morgan gave me. It was delicious! I forgot to take a picture of it but here is the recipe if anyone wants to try it out.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast
-Brown your meat in a skillet on all sides then place into the crock pot
-Add veggies around meat if desired (I did onions, carrots, mushrooms, fresh green beans)
-Mix all of the following ingredients together in a bowl and pour over the meat & veggies
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 package of onion soup mix
     1/2 c of water
     1/4 c of sugar
     1/4 c of balsamic vinegar
     2 tsp salt
     1 tsp yellow mustard
     1 tsp worchestire sauce
     2/3 cloves of minced garlic
-Cook on low heat for 7-8 hours and serve over white rice

After dinner, I continued cooking and prepared my mom's famous monkey bread recipe for Mom to Mom tomorrow. It is my groups week to provide breakfast so I figured that would be easy to do ahead of time and just bake tomorrow morning. I can't wait to eat it tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great night & I will be back soon with Delainey's 5 month post!

Weekend Recap - Atlanta Visit

This past weekend we traveled to Atlanta to introduce Delainey to Cora, my Aunt Linda, cousins Sam & Gillie, and Morgan's kids Kate & Mary Liz. A lot of the weekend was spent in the car, but D was a champ and didn't seem to mind too much. We arrived in Atlanta Friday night around 7 pm and enjoyed a spaghetti dinner made by Morgan & Andy. It was nice to just hang out at the house and catch up with them.

Then Saturday morning we headed down to Aunt Linda & Uncle Chris's house. We got to hang out with Cora for a little bit then we headed to watch my cousins' softball games. I can't believe they are already 16 years old. They are such sweet girls. After their game we went back to the house to hang out and have lunch. Delainey sat on the floor and played with the girls for a long time. It was so great to see Cora; D's only living great-grandparent. Hopefully we can get them down here for a visit in the near future.

All the girls
After our visit, mom and I hit up Ikea for a few items. We ended up buying another bookshelf to put in Delainey's closet for her 100s of books, an entertainment center for the TV up stairs, and all types of other goodies like candles lanterns, and placemats. I will put up some pics once David assembles the items.
After Ikea we headed back to Morgan's to watch football and eat dinner. They had the girls at their house that night so they could meet D for the first time. Mary Liz and Kate kept fighting over Delainey. It was so cute watching them play with her. I think they need a baby sister or brother in the near future don't you think Morgan? *wink wink*
This morning we got up and headed home. I was so blessed to walk into a spic and span house! David dusted, vacuumed, mopped, cleaned the microwave out, cleaned under the coach...I think I may go out of town more often! It was glorious! We had a good trip, but there is definitely no place like home. Nothing like hanging out on the couch watching TV with the family. (Or sleeping on the couch haha)

21 Weeks

We are at 21 weeks! It has been a fairly relaxing and peaceful week for Delainey and I. We have spent our mornings sleeping in till 9ish & drinking Pumpkin Chai Tea Lattes while watching Kathie Lee and Hoda. I don't know why, but I love their show. They give great fashion advice and always have the coolest new gadgets. Anyways, we started feeding Delainey 4 ounces of formula in addition to breastfeeding for her last feeding of the night. WOW what a difference a full belly makes! She has been sleeping from 10:30 pm to 7 am the past 3 nights. Hopefully this will be a permanent thing!

Today we ran some errands and hit up Babies R Us. I am so anxious and excited to start feeding D solid foods. I have a sweet Beaba babycook food processer/steamer that my Dad bought us that is ready to go with all the matching gadgets. We stocked up today on bowls, spoons that change color if the food is too hot, easy wipe bibs, a suction cup toy for the high chair (since D always throws her toys on the floor), and a box of rice cereal. I am going to wait till D turns 6 months to start doing solid foods, but lord knows we are prepared and ready to go! (1 month to go!)

We also got some fur boots for the winter! She loved them! :)

Anyways is anyone else loving that all the shows are back! I think David and I have a slight addiction to TV, just look at our DVR. On any given night we have atleast 4 or 5 shows being recorded. We have the faves back like Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, Modern Family, Hawaii 5-0, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, the Voice and the list goes on and on. As far as new shows that we have picked up, they are Guys with Kids and Revolution. David also has Vegas on the list of things to record. Not that I need more shows, but does anyone have any must see shows?!

D was clearly not interested in the shows tonight haha

So tomorrow my Mom, Delainey, & I are heading up to Atlanta to stay with my friend Morgan and visit my grandma, Cora, and my aunt and cousins. They have never met D before so we wanted to take her up their to introduce her to everyone. I am excited for D to meet her Great grandma because she is unfortunately the only Great grandparent still living. I wish my other grandparents could have met her. They would have loved her. We will be sure to take lots of pics over the weekend and be back on Sunday night with a recap of the weekend. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Weekend Recap - Heart Walk

We had a busy, but fantastic weekend! Friday afternoon we picked Lilly up from her surgery. They ended up having to take all of het teeth out so her new name is Lilly the toothless wonder! She looks pretty much the same so thats a good thing. Except today I woke up to blood all over my duvet because she knocked a blood clot out of her mouth and has been bleeding profusely all day. We ran her by the vet this evening and they said she is fine, just keep her off of nice things so she doesn't bleed on them. Hopefully it will stop soon. Anyways, Friday night, Dave, D & I enjoyed date night at Bonefish. It was nice to catch up and talk after a long week while D slept through dinner. Oh and we also got the new iphone 5's on Friday so that's exciting.
Friday D & I made mini pumpkin muffins that turned out delicious
 Muffin wrappers
 D helping me bake

Saturday morning Delainey & I headed down to the Heart Walk for the American Heart Association with Mom, Dad, Kelli, Ralph and his brother-in-law. We did a 5k for Team Mayo around downtown Jacksonville. It was a lot of fun and for a great cause!

After the walk we had breakfast with the fam then went home to nap and watch football. Saturday night we attended our couples supper club at Courtney & George's house. We had a Mexican feast and watched FSU whoop Clemson. The first half of the game was a little scary but they pulled it out in the end.
I love Delainey's new monogrammed FSU onesie!

Sunday we went to church and heard an awesome message! We did the usual Sunday lunch then mom & I went to get pedicures and manicures. We had dinner at the McLaughlin's to end the weekend. I told you it was busy! No big plans for this week besides gymnastics so we will be back in a few days with another post. Have a great week!

20 Weeks

Big D hit the 20 week mark this week! I can't believe we would only be at the half way point during pregnancy. I feel like she has been a part of our lives forever and can't imagine life without her. Anyways this week has been pretty standard. The usual mom-to-mom, running errands, and just hanging out around the house. I did stop working out at Timed Exercise. I really loved the workouts, but my face was breaking out so I decided I would rather be fat then have bad skin haha. In other news, Delainey has mastered rolling from her back to her stomach in both directions. She used to only go to her left, but now she has no problem going either way.
We did our weekly photo shoot and the days of her sitting still are long gone. It is such a task to get her to sit still and smile. She is so fascinated with the blocks that she is constantly trying to play with them and eat them. I think for the next 32 weeks these pictures are going to be wild!  Here's a little collage of what the pics turned into.
Yesterday I caught her sucking her thumb while taking a nap! She rarely ever sucks her thumb. I hope this is not going to become the new thing instead of a pacifier.
And lastly I did another crafting project for my friend Jessica. She just moved into a new place and I wanted to make her a house warming gift. Here's a pic of the wreath I made. Talk about so easy to do. I think I will be doing one of these for myself in the near future.
Today we are hanging at the house waiting on Lilly's vet to call me. She went to have her teeth removed since they are rotting. I told them to pull all of them (she only has 7 left), but they called and told me if we don't leave even just one her tongue will hang out of her mouth and her bottom gums will receed making her jaw look different. I told them to leave one so we will see how it goes. I hate when she is put under; it makes me so nervous. :( Hopefully everything will go well. Tomorrow D and I will be doing our first 5k for the American Heart Association and we have couple's supper club. We will post pics on Sunday. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

September Supper Club - Pizza Party

Last night we had our first Girl's supper club. I've kind of been the organizer of this deal so I hosted the first one. We decided the theme would be a pizza party where you would make your own pizza. Everything turned out great! Everyone had an assigned item to bring that coordinated with the theme. We ended up having bruschetta and mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, a salad, marinated artichokes & mushrooms, pizza, tiramisu for dessert, and plenty of wine. Everyone chose their own toppings and baked their own pizzas. We ended up sitting around the table for about 2 1/2 hours just catching up and gossiping :) We had a great night and I am so excited about this new tradition. I can't wait for October at Amanda's house to see what our next theme will be. Here are some pics from the night.
