Blakely Ann - 2 Month Update

Height: 23 1/2 inches - 90%
Weight: 11 lb 14 oz - 75%
Head Circumference: 15 1/2 inches - 75%
Vision: You are starting to notice your surroundings more and enjoy looking at bright colors and lights. Your playmate keeps you happy for about 15 minutes which is a nice little break for mama. You are following things much better too.
Movement: You are moving those arms and legs a lot more these days. Constantly wiggling when you're laying on your back. You neck control is better, but every now and then you bang your head into my chest when you are too tired to hold your head anymore. No rolling or anything like that yet. You do not like tummy time very much and my favorite thing you do is to watch you stretch your entire body when you wake up...from your fingertips to your toes!
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are starting to fill out and get chubby cheeks! We are every 3 hours during in the day unless of course you are napping and you go longer. At night you go for about a 6 hour stretch then it is back to every 3 hours. You are still good with the bottle as long as it is not Mama giving it to you. Still eating 3 ounces a feeding. You are still doing your gas drops, but are no longer choking when eating which is great because you don't get hiccups as much as you used to.
Sleeping Patterns: You have definitely become more lively and awake over this past month. Our routine is eat, change diaper about 15 minutes after, play for 45 minutes to an hour, take about an hour nap, then hold you off for another 30 minutes or so before we feed you and do it all again. You really have 2 good naps during the day. One usually from 10-12 and then the next somewhere around 2-4. Bed is around 10 and you sleep in till 7-8ish or until big sister comes in and wakes you. You are still in the pack n play but no more boppy lounger. You still love to be swaddled. I am hoping to move you to your crib in the next month, but you sleep so well it's nice to reach over and feed you and lay you back down without having to get out of the bed.
Sounds/Words: You are starting to talk up a storm. You make lots of coos and try to mimic the sounds and facial gestures that I make. We sit and have nice long conversations where I talk and you make noises for responses. You love to be held and have constant attention on you.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You got your ears pierced
-You went in the pool for the 1st time
-You got your first sunburn/windburn...we aren't really sure what caused it, but it was bad from the beach. (and we will never go to the beach on memorial day again)
-You got your first round of shots and did good.
-You no longer need rectal stimulation to help you poop. We stopped that at 6 weeks
-You got some sort of roseola/heat rash at 6 weeks that lasted about 2 weeks total...luckily there was no fever
Places you went/Adventures: The adventures continue. We went to Seaworld for the weekend and you were fantastic! Eat, poop, and back to sleep in the stroller or chest pack. You had your first babysitter while Mom & Dad went out for the night, went to Orlando for the weekend with Pops and Grammy, have gone to the pool tons of times, went to the beach for Memorial day weekend and got wind burn badly, & celebrated big sisters 3rd birthday.
Clothes: You are mostly in 3 month clothes especially if they are pajamas with feet.  We moved to a size 2 diaper at 6 weeks due to all the blow outs we were having.
Sister updates: Well big sister is still just as obsessed with you. She runs in every morning to terrorize/wake you up. We are really working on her talking to you and treating you like she treats her friends instead of being in your face constantly. There is definitely some competition/jealousy, but Delainey is handling it pretty well. I only really see the jealousy come out around the grandmas. Our goal for yall's relationship is to do things because you are best friends not because you are sisters and you have to.
