37 Weeks

Another week has come and gone. This week baby D hit 37 weeks. It was a big week for food! I started giving her thicker/chunkier foods and she has done great. I gave her pieces of avocado, ground beef, and even some chick-fil-a nuggets. She also had our spaghetti and meat sauce pureed and she loved it! Not that she had a choice on whether she liked pasta ...We only eat it about 3-4 times a week! :)

We are trying to put her to bed a little bit earlier these days so I will give you an update on how that goes in a few days. She always takes a nap from 8-9ish and then we bath her, feed her and put her to bed by 10. So why not try to do all that at 8 instead of 10 and see how that goes.

Also she has started to understand the word no. This week was the first time we have had a fire since she started crawling. We are doing our best to teach her the fireplace is off limits and majority of the time she actually listens and turns around. She does occasionally turn around though, give a little smile, and go right back to it. Of course Dave gives in immediately when she shows the smile. We may be in for some trouble when she gets older. She's already learning how to manipulate Daddy!
This is a new thing! She is constantly raising her arms like she is asking a question or saying touchdown!

We had a nice relaxing weekend. Dave and I did go out on our first alone date night since Delainey was born. It was very nice and my goal is to do it at least once a month...so hold me to it! Other than that we just hung out at the house and are heading to Grammy's to watch football today.

P.S. We have less than a month till we go skiing in Breckenridge! I can't wait!

100th Blog Post!

I can't believe this is my 100th blog post already! It has been awesome documenting our lives since last June. I love being able to go back and look at when Delainey has accomplished certain things. It will be very helpful when baby number 2 comes around.

Anyways, nothing too exciting this week. We watched Dean Monday and today, got our oil changed on Tuesday, went to Mom to Mom on Wednesday, and have just been hanging out at the house in the mean time. Dave has been home a good bit this week which has been lots of fun! Tomorrow we are going to do My Gym with my friend Audrey and her baby Braelyn. I will try to take a picture or two. We are just laying low this weekend. Maybe do a date night with Dave. I have been craving the new seasonal dish from Carabba's that is on the commercials...it's a mushroom, chicken, orchiette...right up my alley! I hope everyone has a good weekend!

Poor Lilly's tongue hangs out all the time!

Waiting on the tile man at Melissa's so we decided to play in the trunk of the car since it was raining!

Delainey's 1st Boat Ride

Saturday was such a gorgeous day, we decided to take the boat out and bring Delainey along for her first boat ride. Last fall we bought D's life jacket and have been waiting for her to get a little older before we tried out the boat. I don't know why we waited because of course she loved it! We took the boat over the Whitey's restaurant and had lunch and then just cruised around the river. Just like the car, the boat put her right to sleep when we started going fast. I was surprised because of how windy it was, but it didn't bother her at all. Dave is very excited she liked it so much. He know has a fishing buddy to play with!:)  Here are some pictures of the day!

As much as I love the winter, after being on the boat this weekend I have decided that I am ready for Summer! Especially for our annual trip to the Keys!! Hopefully it stays warm!

36 Weeks

Last week Delainey hit 36 weeks. I think my previous assumption that she was getting another tooth was wrong. I'm pretty sure it was just a growth spurt because she is back to her wonderful self with no new teeth.  Last week we got back into the swing of things. Delainey definitely missed Dean and had such a fun time playing with him. They are so cute chasing each other around now that he can walk and she can crawl after him. Other than that not too much new with Baby D!
Baby D disappeared from the living room. This is how I found her. She just wanted to help Mommy with the laundry! :)
I was especially excited to watch the new Bachelor last Monday. I loved Sean and I think he picked a few decent girls so it should be a good season. It was for sure better than the National Championship game...boring!
Last Thursday, we celebrated Pops' graduation from Grad school at our weekly Mexican night. We did a little crafting and Delainey made pops a homemade card with her hand prints it was cute.

Then Friday night, we went to Storytime at the local library. Delainey loved it! She was so enthralled with the librarian reading and singing songs. It was such a beautiful day, that afternoon we decided to lay out in the yard and play while Dave washed the cars.
We did some dumpster diving and got this sweet new kitchen! Well not really it was just in the trash pile at the neighbor's house, but what a great find! It is good as new!!
Delainey passed out from such a fun day in the sun!
Later that night Erica, Jessica, Krista, & Kelli all came over to do round 1 of wedding planning for Jessica's upcoming big day. We got some things accomplished, but it's over a year away so we have plenty of time!

35 Weeks

As much as I love the holidays, I also love a routine and a schedule to follow. We are back in full swing with the normal activities. I started watching Dean again, started up tutoring, we went to my gym today, and Mom to Mom starts again tomorrow. I have really missed my Wednesday mom to mom meetings! They just put things into perspective and make you realize what is really important in life.

Delainey hit 35 weeks last Thursday. I reported most of her achievements/stats in her 8 month update, but I do think she is getting another tooth. She has started to grind her teeth, get a little fussy in the evenings, and not sleep very well. I haven't seen a tooth coming through though. If it is not a tooth, who knows what's going on with her!

I've been a bad mom the past 2 nights and let her sleep with us from 6 am on. She wakes up and stands in her crib and is WIDE awake. She refuses to go back to bed unless she is cuddling with me so I have caved the past 2 nights and let her snuggle. Hopefully, I'm not throwing her sleeping off to bad, but it won't be long before she is too big to be in our bed.

Here are some pics of her at 35 weeks.

I went to Buy Buy Baby to buy some anti-tip furniture straps for her bookshelves. They aren't very sturdy and I am sure she will soon be pulling it on herself soon so we are going to try to prevent that. I have the house pretty much babyproofed: plugs in outlets, latches on cabinets with chemicals or medicine, gate on stairs, and a lock on the fireplace doors. Other than that I am going to try to teach her what she can and can't touch.

In other news, I have been scouring the web this week looking for inspiration for Delainey's 1st birthday party! I know it's early, but Kelli says to do a little each month and it won't seem so bad so that's my goal. I have also been looking for venues for Jessica's wedding. The girls are coming over Friday to do some wedding planning. I can't wait! Have a great rest of the week!

8 Month Update

Height: about 28 inches
Weight: about 18 pounds
Head Circumference: about 17 inches
Movement: You are officially a crawler. You can pretty much get anywhere now by crawling. Your favorite thing to do is pull yourself up on things. I have a feeling you will be walking sooner rather than later. You can sit from standing up and you can also go from crawling to sitting which is a big accomplishment because you used to just get stuck on your stomach.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are eating 3 meals a day. Breakfast usually consists of a 1/4 cup of rice cereal or oatmeal and about 2 ounces of some fruit. Lunch is a fruit &/or veggie and maybe some pasta. Dinner is a meat & a veggie. Throughout the day you will snack on some puffs or a mum. You eat about 3-4 ounces per meal. Your milk has cut back to about 4-5 times a day instead of every 3 hours. You also drink a good bit of water out of a sippy cup now. Foods we have tried: pretty much all fruits and veggies. You loved a new chicken dish with sweet potatoes, leeks, and carrots. You have started eating pasta, cheese, and a little bit of yogurt and whole milk mixed into things.
Sleeping Patterns: This month has been a crazy month as far as sleep goes. Now that you know how to stand up are aren't sleeping as good. You will stand up in the middle of the night, but then you can't figure out how to sit back down so you cry. It is getting better though each night. Bedtime is still at 10 and you are waking up around 8 nowadays. Naps happen randomly throughout the day.
Sounds/Words: You say Mama and Dada. You have also said Hi and Bye, but those are few and far between
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You can crawl
-You can wave
-You can clap
-We moved your crib to the lowest setting since you stand up in it all the time
-You did your first sign language sign which was milk. I am pretty sure you clap for the more sign.
-You got your 2 top teeth in
New Friends I've made: No new friends, just showing you off at the Christmas party to all of Mommy and Daddy's friends.
Places you went/Adventures: You celebrated your first Christmas! It was fantastic! You also went to a live Nativity, walked in the Festival of Lights 5k, You went to Dean's 1st birthday party, and went to our Annual Christmas party to name a few adventures. Aunt Brandi & Uncle Tony came in town as well as Aunt Elizabeth.
Clothes: You are still in 9m for sleepers but not for too much longer. These are your current sizes: Gymboree-6, Target- 12 months (The shirts are short), Carter-6, Old Navy/Gap- 6-12
You are in a size 3 diaper.

Professional Christmas Pictures & Delainey @ 7 months

Here are some of my favorite pictures we had taken back in the beginning of December. I didn't want to share until my Christmas cards went out so it is safe to show them. I really liked the photographer and her work! Enjoy!
