Her ooooohh face :)
Height: about 30 inches
Weight: about 21 lbs
Head Circumference: about 18 1/2 inches
Vision: We are good in this department. Nothing to report
Movement: Still not walking! Well you can and you will take about 3-5 steps at a time, then you sit down and start crawling. I think you are scared of falling down so you figure why not just crawl because you are much faster at that! You are finally learning to get off things feet first. I can't wait till you have mastered this skill. I am still amazed at how good your pincher grip is. You can open your car seat buckle, you can press any button on cups to open the top, and you can even push down the bumps on the top of a soda lid.
Eating Habits/New Foods: Still doing about 4 bottles a day. Depending on when and where your naps occur, sometimes you only get 2-3 a day. You have started to get a little picky with food. For example, some mornings you love pancakes and the next you are hitting my hand away when I try to feed you. I have started giving you bigger finger foods and you are doing really well with it. You have learned how to bite things so now I can give you a pretzel stick and not have to worry about you shoving the whole thing down your throat. You are a salty girl. Goldfish, pretzels, edamame, lima beans, corn, meats, salami. You still like yogurt, smoothies, and publix cookies!
Sleeping Patterns: You are still sleeping through the night with the exception of a few nights that you were in pain from teething! You would think you were cutting 5 teeth, but it was just one little one on the bottom. We are in for a real treat over the next year as we get another 18 teeth cutting through! :) You're still doing 2 naps a day around 10:30 and 2.
Sounds/Words: You are a talker!! Not much can be understood, but you definitely have a voice and like to be heard. You're new favorite words are wow and go. I think you mean no when you say go, but whatever you mean it's cute. You shake your head for yes and no. And you are constantly pointing at things saying " ooohh, wow!" We have learned the hot sign this month where you blow on your foo, and you use please all the time now. It's fantastic communicating with you. At lunch I hold something up and you do please, or shake your head no. If you want a drink you do the drink sign. You say more and all done too! Just lovely!
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You got your second tooth a few weeks ago! Probably 2 weeks after your 1st tooth. You ran a fever and had some sleepless nights and seemed to be in pain for a few days there.
-You celebrated your Dad's birthday and your sister's birthday in Disney World!
-You have been swimming a lot lately and are fearless. You love it, which is terrifying because you just dive in. You can blow bubbles and hold your breath if you want to.
-You went to the beach for the first time this year and loved it. Especially eating the sand!!
Places you went/Adventures: Your big adventure this month was going to Disney World to celebrate your sister's birthday. You loved all the rides and were amazed at all the lights and sounds. You kept pointing saying oooh and wow. You went to the Fort in St. Augustine, the beach which you loved, watched your sister play soccer, toured some model homes with Mom & Dad and had a few days with the grandparents while Mom & Dad did things.
Clothes: You are in 12-18 month clothes, some 12-18 are already getting snug like your bathing suit from gymboree. It's a good thing you were born a few months before your sister, because you are definitely rounder and fill out her clothes better than she did. I'm really going to focus on wearing shoes this month so maybe you'll be more inclined to walk. You are still in a size 5 diaper.
Sister updates: Your sister has been going through a rough month of being kind and making good choices, so you have been subjected to some abuse. Usually you let me know right away by crying or yelling at her and trying to hit back. She is teaching you some bad things, like yelling in the car. You laugh when she yells and then you yell and she laughs and it goes on and on. I'm sure just a little snippet of what my life will be like in 10 years. LOL
