New Orleans Bound

Tomorrow we are heading over to New Orleans for the weekend for my brother's wedding. I have never been so I am really excited to go! I'm not sure how much time we will have to sightsee with all the wedding festivities, but hopefully I'll at least get a trolley ride in. We are stopping tomorrow night in Pensacola to stay with Dave's friend Clark to break up the trip and will be back on Sunday.

Today we ran errands to prepare for the trip and we went to lunch with a coworker, Josh. We ate at the French Pantry. It's a little hole in the wall place that's only open from 11-2 during the week. The food is AMAZING! Every time we go there's a line out the door, but it is definitely worth the wait. It is all freshly baked breads, paninis and salads, and to-die-for desserts. Now that I'm unemployed I will have to frequent there much more often. Anyways hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll be back to post pics of our trip on Monday.

3 Month Update

Height: 25" (these measurements are all based on my calculations)
Weight:  13.2 lbs
Head Circumference: 16"
Vision: You can definitely see more than 2 feet in front of you now. I find you often times watching the TV or the fan spin in circles. I don't know how clear it is, but you can see colors and shadows fairly well.
Movement: You are starting to use those legs to push you places when you are laying on the floor or the bed. It is almost like you are trying to do a backbend without using your hands. Our days of leaving you on the bed or the changing table for a second are over! You also are sucking your fingers more than you take your pacifier. For the most part its the pointer and middle finger, but you like to change it up. You can semi roll over. When put on your stomach you push yourself to your side. Then several minutes later you will roll to your back.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are still eating every 3 hours during the day. Every 6 hours at night. We tried giving you a bottle of 6 ounces of milk and you gulped it down with no problem. I am pretty sure you are still eating 3 ounces though from the boob each feeding. Your dad has let you taste syrup, chocolate, and a lemon. You did not like the lemon and made the funniest faces. We can't wait till you start eating real food. I am especially excited to get some pasta in your mouth! :)
Sleeping Patterns: You are starting to stay awake more during the day. You usually wake up around 9. You nap for an hour around noon, 4, & 8 depending on what is going on that day. We are only bathing you every other day so after your bath at 9 o'clock we starting winding down for bed. Your last feeding is still between 11 and 12 pm and that keeps you happy till 6 am.
Sounds/Words: You are a talking machine. I wish we knew what all your sounds meant, but I love to sit and listen to you talk to us. We are going to start integrating some sign language in this month. Hopefully it will help us communicate better before you start talking.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You continued your swimming adventures this month. While in the keys we dunked you under water for the first time. You did awesome! No choking or anything. You definitely had a startled look on your face, but other than that it was great! I am starting to put water in your face during bath time to get you used to it. You also are getting great at kicking your legs while sitting in your float in the pool.
-This is not really an accomplishment, but you did get your first sunburn this month. You were shaded the entire time at the pool, but I guess the reflection off the concrete burned the one side of your body. You didn't seem to mind though. It is just the beginning of your bathingsuit tan. :)
-You also accomplished a semi roll over from stomach to back.
New Friends I've made: No new young friends this month, but we are anxiously awaiting our new friend Gannon's arrival(Sara Greenfield's baby). He should be here by the time you are 4 months old!
Places you went/Adventures: This month we spent a week in the Keys for the Annual Lobster trip. On the way down we stopped in Jupiter and Miami for the night to meet Aunt Jackie, Auntie Joyce, and the Shikany family. While in the keys, we went out to lunch at Lazy Days, happy hour at Wahoo's, dinner at Senor Frijoles, and shopped at the World Wide Sportsman. Grammy and I alternated days to watch you so the other could go out on the boat. You had a great week in the keys! Also we spent a weekend at the Sawgrass Marriott for daddy's annual work conference. We showed you off to all his co-workers and took you to the Suns game where you got to sit in the skybox. July was a great month of traveling and fun in the sun!

Weekend at Sawgrass Marriott

This past weekend was spent at the Sawgrass Marriott for David's annual business meeting. David works for a fairly small company with about 10 total employees. Once a year his boss, Bobby, puts up his employees and their spouses in a hotel and treats us to dinners, breakfasts, and other fun events. Delainey got to join in the fun since she is so young and is attached to the teet. :) This year we had a dinner on Friday night at the hotel. We got all dressed up and enjoyed filet mignon and an open bar. The food was delicious and it was great socializing with the other wives/girlfriends.

Then on Saturday the boys had meetings till 4. Delainey and I got up and went for a walk around the resort. It has beautiful scenery and is an awesome place to have a wedding.

After our stroll, we went to meet my sister-in-law Emily for brunch at Metro Diner. I had a 12" inch pancake which was more like a 16" pancake. It was insane! I could only eat 1/2 of it and we all know I can put some food down.

After the boys got out of their meetings,  Bobby planned to take all of us down to the Jacksonville Suns baseball game for the night. He rented a party bus to take us there and back and reserved a skybox with all you can eat food and drinks. The game was delayed due to rain so we only got to watch a total of 2 innings, but it was still a lot of fun! By the way, I'm going to brag about the hubby a little. We are so proud of him for his accomplishments last year. He won 4 awards; one being top sales rep in the company for 2011. Woohoo!

 This is Dave's Co-worker Alex. He kept me in line all weekend making sure Delainey's feet and head were covered so she didn't get to cold.

After we got back to the hotel, we hung out at the hotel bar for a little bit and played table top shuffleboard. Then headed to bed around 12:30. Delainey was such a trooper the entire night. Noone could believe I would bring a baby into the bar. It was non-smoking and she just slept right through all the noise. What a gem!

This afternoon we went to my friend Sara's baby shower. Her son Gannon is due at the beginning of September. We are so excited to have a friend for Delainey who is so close in age. They will only be 3 months apart. Not to mention we love Sara and love hanging out with her. I forgot pics, but I'm sure I can steal a few from Facebook once Sara puts them up. Off to do some more laundry from our weekend away. Hope everyone has a good Monday.

13 weeks

It has been so great to be home this week and just relax. Our week has been pretty low key. D & I went to my mom & sister's school to help them set up their classrooms, we had a shopping trip at the outlet malls, we laid out at the pool, and had dinner with some friends tonight. Other than that we have been busy watching the Olympics all day and night! I justify watching this much TV because it only comes around every 4 years and it's only for 17 days so we have to get it in while we can! It makes me feel better about myself when we spend an entire day inside watching tv in our pajamas. Anyways, D turned 13 weeks today. Tomorrow is the big 3 months so we will be back with a large post tomorrow. Here are some pics from today.

 Tomorrow we are headed out to stay at the TPC Sawgrass Marriott for the weekend. David's company does an annual weekend that includes seminars for the boys, but also dinner and a trip to the Sun's game in the skybox so it should be a fun weekend. D will be joining us for the festivities. We will take lots of pics and post them Sunday night when we are back home. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Keys Trip 2012

Brace yourselves because this post is a picture overload!! After stopping through Miami, we arrived to my Uncle's house in Islamorada, Florida. We come here every year for the mini season of lobstering and it is by far one of my favorite weeks out of the year. People who came this year were: Delainey, David, myself, Terri, Uncle Gary, Aunt Steph, My cousins Megan, Melissa, Kent and Melissa's 2 friends Ashley & Keith. We had quite the crew! On Monday we went scouting for lobster and then Dolphin fishing. We caught 5 dolphin! Tuesday was yellowtail fishing. Wednesday was the 1st day of lobster season and we caught our limit of 60 lobsters! Thursday was lobstering again, but we only found 13 and Friday was fishing and some relaxing at the sandbar. It was a great week filled with wonderful family and terrific food!

We had a great week and already can't wait for next years trip when D will be walking and going out on the boat with us!

12 weeks

This should have been posted last Thursday (July 26th), but we were in the keys so here it is a few days late. Delainey has been talking up a storm this week! She tries to repeat the noises you make. It is so cute. My cousin Megan and I were making whale sounds to her and she was going right along with it for a good 10 minutes. Other than that, not too much has changed. She is pretty close to rolling over from her stomach to her back. She can roll to her side then a few minutes later she will roll onto her back. It won't be long till she is rolling all over the place.

Also, I think we are up to 4 ounces of milk each feeding. On the car ride home I gave her 3ounces and she still seemed pretty hungry. So at the next feeding I gave her 6 ounces to see how much of it she would eat. The fat girl drank the whole bottle! So I think we are going to stick with 4 ounces per feeding when I pump. That sounds about right for her weight. I can't believe the next pictures we take of her will be her 3 month pics! :( She's such a big girl!!
