Fall has arrived!

For those of you who don't know me well, Fall is by far my favorite season of the year. I love the cool weather, windows open, football season, tailgates, holiday parties, all things pumpkin including pumpkin patches, Thanksgiving, turkey, Florida vs. Georgia, my birthday...it is just the greatest time of year! We definitely got into the fall swing of things this weekend.

On Friday after Dave got home from work, we ate dinner and then headed to Kelli's house to hang out for the night. She just got backsplash put in her kitchen and it looks great. A few of her other friends also came over to hang out. We watched some football and made cake pops for her Jaguar party that she is having on Sunday. Here are some pics from Friday.

Delainey puts EVERYTHING in her mouth now including her Daddy's head!
D & Chelsea meeting for the 1st time
Kel making her Jag cake pops
We decided to hit up Starbucks this morning to try the new Pumpkin Spice Frappucinno. It was heavenly and I will definitely be getting one at least once a week since they are only offered in the fall! Speaking of fall, I can't wait to make some pumpkin bread! Anyways after our run to Starbucks we came home and got ready to go to our friend Camdyn's 2nd birthday party. Of course Delainey needed to look nice for her 1st bday party so she decided to wear a tutu. It was so cute.

We had a great time at Cam's party. We ate, we watched Cam open presents, we took a nap in Cam's big girl bed, we even got to play with some of her toys. It was a great day! Here are some pics from the party.

 Camdyn: The Birthday Girl!!
(Please notice that D is grabbing at the beer bottle in both of those pics. She loves to lick a cold beer bottle. It is hilarious!)

After the party, we went to meet up with David's family and they went on an airboat ride and we had dinner at a restaurant called Crazy Fish. The food was good and was right on the intercoastal so the view was definitely nice.

We had a very busy but exciting day! Tomorrow's agenda includes church, lunch, watching the Jags, and maybe a little house cleaning. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

18 weeks

This has been quite an exciting week! Tuesday evening I started my month of workouts at Timed Exercise. It appealed to me because the workout itself was only 30 minutes long. Finding time to workout with D is next to impossible so I thought 30 minutes would be feasible. Basically each day of the month you do a different set of exercises; usually 6-8 exercises. You do anywhere from 10-18 reps of each exercise then you start the rotation over again. So in 30 minutes you probably get about 6-8 rotations done. Excuse my language, but holy balls it is HARD! I literally thought I was going to die walking out on Tuesday. I don't think I have ever been that sore in my life! I went again yesterday and the soreness is just as bad. Today I am taking off to recover, but will be back at it tomorrow. I took a before picture so hopefully by the end of the month I will see some results!
This is what the class looks like.

Also yesterday was the first day of my Mom to Mom class at the church. I am so excited about it! It is a 16 week series of lessons on how to be a better parent with the whole premiss of parenting inside out. Basically getting myself where I need to be spiritually so I can then get Delainey there. We were grouped off based on our kids age and there were probably 12-14 moms that all had kids under 2. I met some really sweet girls and can't wait to make some new friends with kids that are the same age as D.

Here's D on her first day at mom to mom (in the nursery for 2 whole hours)

Today was a much needed relaxing day of sleeping in late and watching movies. We are off to dinner soon with the family. Hopefully tomorrow we will get to me Gannon, my friend Sara's baby so we will post pics soon. Have a great night!

4 Month Update

Height: 26 1/4 inches - 97%
Weight: 13 lbs & 6 oz - 50%
Head Circumference: 16 1/4 inches - 50%
Vision: Your vision is great. You can see things that are very far away now and you follow objects and lights really well. You sit and watch Lilly all day long. You love TV, the fan, your playmat and of course the faces of your family members. I definitely think you can recognize who people are now.
Movement: You can now roll over! You are a pro on rolling from your back to your stomach. I haven't seen you roll from your stomach to your back yet, but I know you have done it in your bed during the night. Dr. Mary said you are going to be walking at an early age. You hold your head up really well and have a very strong neck and core.
Eating Habits/New Foods: You are still eating every 3 hours during the day. Every 5-7 hours at night. I started taking herbal supplements to increase my milk production to keep up with your growing body. Dr. Mary said you should be eating 6 ounces each feeding so we may need to supplement with formula to fatten you up. I am hoping that will just be temporary and my milk supply will increase. Only 2 more months till we try real food!
Sleeping Patterns: We have started you on a schedule that has been working out very well. At 9:30 pm we take a bath and get into our pajamas. Then we read a book and I feed you. You usually go to sleep at 10 pm. You sleep usually till 4 am and I feed you again. You wake up around 7 or 8 am. It works great for all the activities we are starting in the mornings, but it is rough when you wake up at 7 on a Saturday ready to play. You are still napping about 3 times a day for 45 minutes to an hour.
Sounds/Words: You are constantly talking and laughing alot now! You try to mimic sounds and faces that we make. I love to hear you laugh; it is so cute! See the video below. We started doing sign language but it is going to be a long time before you can actually learn the gestures.
New discoveries/accomplishments:
-You can roll over now!
-Your feet touch on your jumper and you hang out in there for hours.
-You can hold your bottle by yourself and feed yourself
-You laugh all the time
-You discovered your feet and grab your toes. It keeps you occupied for quite some time. Grammy is trying to teach you how to suck your toes, but no luck yet.
New Friends I've made: Gannon was just born on Sunday, September 2nd so we haven't met him yet but are excited to have him as a new friend. You met alot of new people at Tony's wedding like the Cooks and alot of your Dad's friends (Trip, Joey, Randy, Petey, Danie, Patrick...) Also the Turbedsky's came into town for a few days and you got to play with Caeden and Grayson at the pool and the beach. You also met Aunt Elizabeth this month when she came down and stayed with us for a few days.
Places you went/Adventures: At the beginning of this month, we drove out to New Orleans for Uncle Tony's wedding. You did awesome on the 8 hour drive. We went over there with Gammo & Aunt Em. Gammo watched you during the weekend when I was out on Bourbon Street or at the wedding. You were great at the wedding; The only issue was how hot it was so we ended up taking off your dress and you were fine. We also tried "My Gym" classes and you loved it! We are starting to do the classes once a week. You also had your official Baby Dedication at the church. Month 3 was so much fun! You are definitely starting to get a little personality and I love spending each and every day with you!!
Clothes: You are just outgrowing your newborn and 0-3 items for the most part. They still fit width wise but not in the length. You are now wearing your dresses as tunics with leggings since they are so short.

My 2 Favorite ladies!

Here is D laughling with her Daddy! So precious!

Nole girl from the beginning!

We had a very nice relaxing labor day weekend. On Friday night we hung out at the house while David and Kent started working on making Cornhole boards. Like all projects Dave takes on, it is much more complicated then they expected and they are still working on them 4 days later. The girls just hung out inside and watched a movie. Dr. Melissa thinks she has a free pass to do anything to Delainey since she's a doctor. This time she felt the need to let her suck on her beer bottle. D hated it! (Clearly she doesn't take after her daddy!)

On Saturday we dressed up in our FSU attire for Delainey's first ever game day. She looked precious of course. We went up to the Ale House to have lunch and watch football. Then we headed over to Grammy and Pops to hang out while David had to go into a surgery since he was on call.

Sunday we went to church and lunch then jumped on the boat to head to the Conch House in St. Augustine. Every Sunday is Reggae Sunday with a band and tons of people. It was a lot of fun until David once again got called into a surgery so we had to cut our trip short.

Monday we just cleaned the house and watched movies, then headed over to Gammo & DoDaddys (David's parents) house for dinner. It was a nice relaxing weekend. Today we had D's 4 month check up and I am starting my Timed Exercise workouts. 4 month STATS are coming soon in the next post. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

Delainey's Baby Dedication

Luckily I wrote this right after it happened because I just got the pictures today. Here it finally is!

On Sunday Delainey, David, & I participated in our church's baby dedication ceremony. It is basically us publicly saying that we will raise our daughter to love the Lord, and provide a strong Christian foundation for her upbringing. They also ask the family members if they will help. It is a short and sweet ceremony. The difference between a baptism and dedication is that in our church we wait until Delainey is old enough to accept Jesus as her savior to do the baptism versus doing it while she is a baby and has no choice.

After Church we all went back to my mother's house for lunch. When I was growing up, we had a Sunday tradition of going to my grandpa's (Bumpa's) house for a spaghetti lunch after church. It is one of my favorite memories because all the cousins and kids could play while the parents got to hang out. Once we have more kids, we will hopefully carry this tradition on at my parent's house instead of going out to lunch.

We decided to relive the tradition for her Dedication party. We had a feast for lunch that included salad from Buca di Peppo, spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmigiana, sausage peppers and onions, cake pops, and a pizookie (cookie cooked in a deep dish pan then topped with ice cream; it's heavenly!) Everything was delicious. After lunch we all just hung out and talked. People who were there included the Richie's, the Griffin's, the McLaughlin's, the O'Days, Kenty, & the Turbedsky's. It was an awesome day and we are thrilled to have such a supportive family to help us raise D to love the Lord.

Also, Aunt Kelli & Uncle Jeff bought D a jewelry box for her dedication present. I have been wanting a jewelry box for her for quite some time but couldn't find one. I used to have one with a ballerina that spun and I wanted the same for her. Kelli found the perfect one at Potterybarn Kids. Delainey loved it! She stared at the ballerina spinning forever. Thanks guys!!

Overall it was a fantastic day that we will remember forever!!

17 weeks

Delainey is almost to the 4 month mark! She is growing up so fast! Next Tuesday we have our 4 month appointment with our second round of vaccines. I am hoping she does just as well as she did last time. We have been hanging out this week trying to get my milk supply to increase. D is one skinny mini and I am worried she is not eating enough. She seems satisfied after each feeding but according to when I pump she is only getting 2 ounces and the average kid her age should get between 3 & 4 ounces. I started taking a vitamin called Fenugreek and it seems to be working so I am excited.

We love our MudPie outfit! Thanks Aunt Kel

Other than that we have just been trying to set up our health insurance since we had it through St. Johns County and I am clearly no longer employed there. We quickly found out insurance is EXPENSIVE! But I am not one to gamble, so we will just suck it up and pay the monthly amount for that "just in case if something happens" occasion.

Yesterday we went to watch the Bartram Trail Volleyball team play. Delainey was a little startled at how loud it was a first, but after a few minutes she loved it. She sat on Grammy's lap and watched contently for almost 2 hours. I definitely miss coaching volleyball, but it is just too time consuming to do with a young baby. I would definitely like to get back into it once D gets a little bit older. Who knows maybe I will be her coach someday because she has no choice but to love volleyball! :)

Anyways we don't have any big plans for the long weekend, but I am sure we will end up doing lots of fun stuff...maybe some boating, beach, who knows. I can't believe September is already here. We are so excited for all of the upcoming things that are starting this month. D starts My Gym class once a week, I start the mom to mom bible study weekly, I am starting a bible study with my girl friends, we are doing a girl's supper club once a month and I'm hosting this month, we are doing a couple's supper club with my sis and her friends, and I signed up to do a month of working out at a place called Timed Exercise with a personal trainer. It is going to be quite the busy month, but lots of fun things to blog about!! I hope you guys have a great Labor Day weekend!

Happy Bday to the Best Sis in the World!

Happy 25th Birthday Kelli!! I can't believe today marks my baby sisters 25th birthday. Not such a baby anymore. Kelli has grown into a beautiful young lady who I can truely call my very best friend. She is always there for me when I need her and could quite possibly be the best Aunt ever to Delainey. I could not have wished for a better sister. Yesterday Dad was asking what our favorite memory of Kelli was. There are too many to name, but some that popped into my mind are our wild times in Tallahassee at the bar, her always having my back no matter what the situation, and just watching her interact and loving D so much. I hope you have a great birthday Kel and I can't wait for many more together! We love you!!
