FL v. GA & My actual birthday

Saturday was the annual Florida vs. Georgia football game held in Jacksonville. Even though I am not really a fan of either team, we still love to go and tailgate and roam around every year. We were hoping to bring Delainey for her first experience downtown, but with the weather being questionable and windy from Hurricane Sandy we decided to leave her behind. She was dressed in her red and black for her Grammy & Pop's team still though.
So Saturday morning we all met at the parent's house and headed out towards downtown around 9:00 am to tailgate. We looked like Mexicans with 10 people packed in the surburban with 2 coolers, but it's always nice to have only one car to park and drive home. (Finding a DD can be difficult, especially since we left Terri home with Delainey!) Once we parked, we walked to several different tailgates seeing friends and then ended up at our usual spot at my friend Erica's tailgate. They bring an RV down and it is right on a lake so that is always a good time.
We headed home early this year to make it home in time to actually watch the game which turned out to be a good one! David & I later headed over to Kelli and Jeff's friends house to watch the second half of the game then headed home because we were exhausted!

Sunday was my actual birthday which was exactly how I imagined it would be. We slept in and cuddled with D. Then David made us pancakes for breakfast and went to get us Pumpkin Spice Frappucinos. Then for lunch we headed over to Dave's parents house where I was given a new sewing machine for my birthday! I am very excited to learn how to sew...at least get good at some basic things. We went to the loop for lunch to get my favorite tomato bisque soup, then we watched the Jags play. Delainey loved playing with the wrapping paper! I can't wait to watch her at Christmas!

Later that day we headed to my parents house and we went to Brio Tuscan Grill for my birthday dinner. It was our first time going there. The food was really good, but definitely very rich so next time we will share items! Then we came back and ate oreo ice cream cake and opened presents. I got a new Kitchen-aid stand mixer from my parents! I have not been much of a baker in the past, but am starting to get into it more since staying home and I know that this mixer will be put to good use for years to come.

It was a fantastic weekend and I am hoping the 28 brings me as much happiness as 27 did. I don't think that will be possible because I was blessed with D while 27 so that will be hard to top :) We are heading to Cashiers, NC on Wednesday with David's family for the weekend so I am busy these next 2 days trying to pack and buy clothes for Delainey that will be warm enough. It snowed up there today so it is going to be cold! Maybe D will see her first snow! I will be back with pictures of the trip after this week. Hope everyone enjoys their halloween!

25 Weeks & Pumpkin Patch Round 2

Sorry for my absence, but from October through December things are so hectic I feel like I am constantly on the go. I will do my best to do at least 2 posts a week! :) So last Wednesday we headed to another Pumpkin Patch with our Mom to Mom group. We watched a video, played games, and decorated a baby pumpkin with stickers. We were really there just to take more pictures! :)

Then Thursday marked 25 weeks so we had our weekly photoshoot and ran some errands to prepare for the FL v. GA weekend.

Also on Thursday I finished up one of my crafting projects I was doing. David's co-worker Alex is a photographer and she loves my blocks I use for her weekly photo shoots. She contacted me and asked for me to make her a set for her to buy. I finished them and she actually got to use them in her newborn shoot this weekend! How exciting. Let me know if anyone else wants them?!? Side job #2 here we come! :)
Friday, my mom & sister's school got canceled because of Hurricane Sandy. I think it was a mistake because it actually turned out to be a beautiful day with the exception of some wind. So I jumped at the chance to have some friends to hang out with during the week! I took them to the French Pantry for the first time and of course they loved it just as much as I do! You know a restaurant must be good when they have a line to wait that is out the door.

After lunch we did some shopping and I got to pick out a birthday outfit! We ended the day with dinner with the family at Hurricane's Wings. I'll be back shortly with a recap of FL v. GA and my actual birthday.

Italian American Festival & Savannah

Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Italian food. Not only do I miss my Bumpa's (my grandpa) cooking, but I miss him everyday! He was the sweetest old man who would do anything for anyone. So while driving down the road last week, I saw a sign for the Italian American Festival happening this past weekend. I ran home and told David that we must go in honor of Bumpa! So Saturday we got up and headed to the festival for lunch and some reminiscing while watching all the old Italian people. I love them! :) The food was heavenly! We had a platter of food that included chicken parm, eggplant parm, and ziti & meatballs. Of course we had to have canolli's for dessert! There wasn't a whole lot going on at the festival but the food was definitely worth the trip up there.

After the festival we came back to our house to watch football & cookout with the family. We cooked sausage, mushrooms, peppers, & onions on the grill while Melissa brought over the appetizers, and Kelli brought over the homemade Sangria. It was a nice relaxing day.

On Sunday, we got  up early to head to Savannah to meet up with David's high school friend Lindsey and her husband Mark. We enjoyed brunch at this place called B. Matthew's eatery. The biscuits and gravy were by far the best I have ever tasted and the shrimp & grits and fried green tomato eggs benedict were pretty great too. (Yes David and I got 3 meals to split between the 2 of us haha) Then we walked around the town and did some sightseeing. We hung out in one of the local squares and listened to live music then hit up Leopold's ice cream parlor for an afternoon snack. It was really great getting to hang out with them and catch up not to mention it was a gorgeous day to be outside.

After such a fun but busy weekend, Delainey and I layed around all day yesterday and snuggled. I love days like that! We are headed to the pumpkin patch tomorrow with our mom to mom group so I will be back with pictures from that soon!

Surprise Birthday Party for....ME!

Last week David and I were talking and he said on Friday let's go out on a date just the 2 of us. This is definitely out of the norm for David to say. So of course my reaction was to question him on if he did something wrong, what's the occasion, why on Friday. (haha I am a bit of a control freak!) But eventually I let it go and just accepted that he was being sweet. So Friday came and I got ready to go out to the Cheesecake factory with just Dave. We were bringing Delainey over to my sister's house for the night for her to babysit. She told me that our Mom wanted to play with Delainey too so she would be there to help. We arrived to my sister's around 7:30 and I noticed both my mom and dad's cars were there. In my head I thought, wow they must really not trust Kelli to babysit by herself. Low and behold when I walked in the door I heard a loud yell of "SURPRISE!"

My sister had planned an entire surprise party by herself and it had apparently been in the works for months! Majority of my best friends were there including one from Tallahassee. Kelli's house was decorated beautifully (duh!) and she had Maggiano's cater the food, which is my favorite Italian restaurant. We hung out for a little while and ate appetizers & had drinks. Then we ate dinner and talked/played games around the table. It was so great to have all my friends together that night!

I even got some birthday presents! I got some jewelry, a picture frame, giftcard to hobby lobby, giftcard for a pedicure, the wand for curling hair, & the Silhouette Cameo (it is a professionally cutting machine to make invitations, banners, vinyl letters, basically the greatest crafting tool ever)!  I have yet to try the Cameo but am so excited to get it going!
The Cameo!

Testing out the wand!

I can honestly say it was the first time in my entire life that I was surprised with something besides Christmas presents (like my dog Lilly & our playhouse in Miami). I am such a know it all I never let anyone do anything without me knowing. I was 100% shocked and everyone did such a great job keeping it from me! David was especially cute because he brought 2 outfits to change Delainey into since he knew I would want her to look nice at my party. How sweet is he! Anyways it was a great night and I am so thankful to have such a caring, sweet sister to think of doing that for me and making it a night I'll never forget. Thanks Kel!! I love you!!

24 Weeks

I can't believe how fast October is flying by! We have been doing so much during the week that I feel like it is Friday before I can blink. On Wednesday we had Mom to Mom and the girls supper club at Amanda's house. This month the theme was Mexican! We enjoyed taco salads, refried bean casserole, and yellow rice. I am so glad we are doing these get togethers once a month. Next month's theme is Breakfast for dinner which I love so I am really excited about that!

This Sunday we are driving up to Savannah to have lunch with David's best friend from high school, Lindsey, & her husband Mark while they are close by. They live in Colorado but are visiting Savannah for a family reunion. We never get to see them so it will be fun to catch up and talk about all the exciting things about having little girls. Hopefully I can offer her some advice. She isn't due until February. On Thursday, we ran some errands and went to pick up some must have baby things for Lindsey. In addition to some store bought items, I am making her my blocks I use for Delainey's weekly & monthly updates. I think that is by far my favorite thing I have ever created. On another note, I had a friend who is a photographer also ask me to make her some blocks for her photo shoots and she will pay me $50! I just may start a business making these things! :) BTW Delainey is a wild child these days! Constantly yelling and getting into everything! We are going to have a very eventful next few years with this little beauty!

Today we went to lunch with Alicia & her daughter Collins and then David is taking me out to dinner tonight for a date night! My sis is watching D so that should be fun! I don't think we have had a date  night by ourselves since D has been born!
How stinking cute is she! I LOVE this pic!

Tomorrow we are going to go watch the airshow at the beach and swing by the Italian American festival to get some homemade Italian food in honor of my grandpa Bumpa. It should be a fun weekend and we will be back on Sunday to share pics of it all! Have a great weekend everyone!

Pumpkin Carving/Painting Party

Saturday afternoon we headed to my friend Erica's house for a Pumpking Carving & Painting Party. It was a great time! She had her house decked out in Halloween decorations and even had the food halloween themed. The pasta salad was shaped like bats and ghosts, the chips were pumpkins, and the cake pops looked like eyeballs. Of course I forgot to take pictures of the inside of the house. Mike also fried some fish and grilled burgers.

Thanks Cora & Aunt Linda for our precious outfit! We were def. best dressed at the party!
How funny is this picture!?!?
After eating and hanging out for a little while, the real fun began! Everyone put their artistic side to work and either carved or painted a pumpkin. We decided to paint it in hopes that it won't rot before Halloween. I painted mine first then we tackled Delainey's pumpkin. We striped her down to her diaper and got to work. We tried doing hand prints first, but of course with my wild child she wouldn't open them and stay still long enough to do it. So then we resorted to the foot which was a little better. It's not the prettiest pumpkin, but it was fun making it!

After painting pumpkins, we changed D into another Halloween outfit that was a little cooler since it was 85 degrees in October.(I'm so ready for it to get cool!) We hung out and watched football for the remainder of the day. Once it got dark, we voted on the best pumpkin. Delainey won, but the prizes were not kid friendly so she took herself out of the running. :) I did not win but it still was a lot of fun. We will definitely be making this an annual tradition for years to come! Thanks Erica for the great party!

23 Weeks

Here is the video of Delainey laughing from my last post!

Wednesday we had Mom to Mom and some tutoring at San Juan. I am so thankful for my mom & sister who make it possible to tutor at their school! I am starting to tutor 2 kids on Mondays & 2 kids on Wednesdays while they watch D. I also am tutoring my next door neighbor on Tuesdays & Thursdays. It is going to be fantastic having some extra money coming in to help pay for our new health insurance plan. (Which is not to cheap!) After tutoring we went to watch the Bartram Trail vs. Ponte Vedra volleyball game. It was a great game, but we ended up leaving after a little while because Delainey was hungry and tired. It was so loud and yet somehow she seemed to sleep through it!
She is getting mighty close to getting up on all fours. I bet she is crawling in no time!

Big D hit 23 weeks on Thursday! We went a smocked dresses sale Thursday morning and got a Christmas dress and some bows then went to have my hair highlighted. Thursday evening we went to Marcia's to learn how to make some chocolate mousse pies for our couple's supper club on Friday.

Delainey's first lesson of learning how to drive! :)

Friday evening we hosted the Couple's supper club at our house. We had a low country boil and just hung out and watched baseball. It took much longer than expected to cook it but it turned out really good. I thought it was a little spicy, but the next day it was perfect! On Saturday we to Erica's for a cookout and pumpkin carving party. That will be on the next post.
